About the Author:
Rebecca Brooks lives in New York City in an apartment filled with books. She received a PhD in English but decided it was more fun to write books than write about them. She has backpacked alone through India and Brazil, traveled by cargo boat down the Amazon River, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, explored ice caves in Peru, trekked to the source of the Ganges, and sunbathed in Burma, but she always likes coming home to a cold beer and her hot husband in the Bronx. Her books are about independent women who leave their old lives behind to try something new—and find the passion, excitement and purpose they didn’t know they’d been missing.

Make Me Beg was such a great contemporary romance read. It took me a little while to really get into the story at the beginning, but once I got into the book I could't put it down and finished the last 75% in one sitting. The romance was just so wonderful! The characters were just so wonderful to read about and I really enjoyed the way that everything progressed between the two of them from complicated friends to lovers. Usually I get annoyed when a the main couple in a romance deny their feelings for as long as these two did in this book, but in this book it really worked and the author had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see who was going to give in first and admit they were in love. But while I loved the characters and the romance in this book what did annoy was all the back and forth between Mack and Connor about how the restaurant they were going to own together was going to be. Both were so hard-headed about the details and sometimes I just wanted to slap some sense into both of them. But getting back to the romance, the love story in this book really was amazing. And it wasn't just because the sex scenes were hot, but because the author managed to make me fully invested in these two and made me need to see them get their HEA. And what a marvelous HEA it was. The way that the author had Connor grovel at the end was great and just made me so happy. Had I not already loved the book, that scene plus the epilogue would have completely sold me on this book because it was perfect.
