I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4 out of 5 stars

So while I really like this book especially the characters Benny and Henry, this book was actually my least favorite of the books in this series. This is mostly due to the fact that I realized with this book that I'm not the biggest fan of books with women who go through a physical transformation just to attract a guy. I mean the situation was entertaining and all and allowed for some good stuff between Benny and Henry, but overall I was just as annoyed by Benny's pretending to like things to attract Luke's attention as Henry was in the double date scene. But as I said it allowed for some good stuff to brew between Benny and Henry and that made it all worth it in the end. I'm always a fan of books featuring couples who start out hating each other and then end up falling in love and that is what happens in this book so I was sufficiently entertained. It was so funny to see all the back and forth between these two as they went from hating each other to becoming friends to falling in love. And when it all came down to it the progression of their relationship was was really sweet and felt really natural so I was more than satisfied.

Overall, I really liked this book. It was another good installment in this great contemporary romance series by Ashlee Mallory. Now to pray I won't have to wait too long to see if Daisy will get her HEA since she's the only sibling left.

Blog Tour: Six Month Rule by A.J. Pine (+ Review)

Synopsis:

She created the game, but the rules are about to change.

Taurus: Hold fast to your single-minded nature today—no matter how long her legs or how lush her red lips.
Gemini: You were a shining star last night, but reality can be a real—well, you get the picture. Just remember: Tall, dark, and British equals no corner office for you.

Will Evans never wanted a reason to stay.

Holly Chandler wants nothing more than for him to go.

But neither one is prepared for what can happen in six months. Because it doesn’t matter what you want when what you need walks out the door.

Holly’s been busting her butt to make partner at Trousseau and there’s no way she’s going to let some stuck-up British arsehole get in her way—no matter how drop-dead gorgeous he is. But that doesn’t mean she can’t have a little fun in the process. She has a six-month rule: date just long enough for the honeymoon phase to wear off, then walk away before anyone gets hurt. If they both know the rules up front, walking away will be a piece of cake. Or maybe not…

*SIX MONTH RULE is a stand alone book in a connected series.

About the Author:

AJ Pine writes stories to break readers’ hearts, but don’t worry—she’ll mend them with a happily ever after. As an English teacher and a librarian, AJ has always surrounded herself with books. All her favorites have one big commonality–romance. Naturally, her books have the same. When she’s not writing, she’s of course reading. Then there’s online shopping (everything from groceries to shoes) and, of course, a tiny bit of TV where she nourishes her undying love of vampires and superheroes. And in the midst of all of this, you’ll also find her hanging with her family in the Chicago burbs.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 stars

As of right now Six Month Rule is my favorite A.J. Pine book ever! This book was just so wonderful. When I started reading it, I thought I was just going to simply like it since it took me a while to get into The One That Got Away earlier in the year, but Six Month Rule was way better. This book had me hooked from the very first page and I hated that my responsibilities prevented me from finishing this book in one sitting.

I loved so many things about this book from the characters to the story, but what I loved the most about this story is how everything developed between Will and Holly. I always get a kick out of watching characters in romance books try to deny their feelings and these two really did try and it was so much fun for me to see them epically fail at not falling in love.

My only complaint about this book was that it ended way too soon! I kind of wanted to see more of how these two were going to make things work and was not a happy camper when I reached the last page. I NEED so much more of Will and Holly so hopefully this lovely author will have them at least mentioned in future books in this series.

Overall, I really loved this book. It is a pretty much flawless contemporary romance and EVERYONE needs to read it!

***MY REVIEW***

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 stars

His Fantasy Bride, the third book in Nina Croft's Things to Do Before You Die series with Brazen was an excellent romance. Vito and Gabby's love story was one that really got under my skin and had me thinking about it days after I finished. I had already loved Vito from when I read Her Fantasy Husband and this book just made me love him so much more. Gabby was also a really great character although there were a few instances in which I was annoyed with her behavior mostly because I can never get behind a character letting their family get in the middle of who they should date. Luckily she got over that and the scene between Vito and Luca was hilarious, so my initial annoyance didn't affect my overall enjoyment of the book.

Anywho, what I loved most about this book was the fact that it takes place at the same time as Her Fantasy Husband. For some reason reading that scene in which Vito wakes up with the chicken on his chest was so much funnier this time around. Lol. Overall, I love, love, loved this book. It was funny, intense, emotional and just all around good. A definite must-read for lovers of steamy romance novels with some depth in my opinion.

***MY REVIEW***

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 stars

This book is the second by Jade Lee that I have read and at the moment my favorite of hers. The story was such a fun historical romance and I couldn't get enough of it for a multitude of reasons, the first being how much I loved the characters. Strong heroines in historical romance are pretty much my favorite thing ever and Mari fit the bill perfectly with the way that she went up against Peter. As for Peter it was pretty impossible for me to not like him. Heroes like him in historical romance novels always get under my skin and make me love them so much.

Secondly, the romance in this book was wonderful, I really liked that it was a slow burn. It was fun to get to see Mari's opinion of Peter change over time from hatred to love. And in terms of Peter's feelings for Mari, I really liked that while he did mess with her throughout the book, that he still actually had her best interests at heart and I loved how invested and committed he was to her even if it wasn't always obvious to Mari.

Overall, this book was absolutely amazing in my opinion. Jade Lee truly delivered a pretty much flawless historical romance that is not only my favorite of hers, but is also easily one of my top ten favorite historical romances of all time.

I had never read an Amy Andrews book, so when I started reading this book I wasn't sure what to expect, but I got to say I wasn't disappointed. Playing by Her Rules was a hot romance. Like with any romance set outside of the United States, it took me a little while to get used to the setting, but once I did I really liked this story. The characters were all really intriguing and given that this is a second chance romance it was exciting to see everything unfold and the truth about what happened years before between them come to light. I was so sucked into the story and these character that I spent the majority of my Fourth of July reading this book because I didn't want to put it down until these two worked out their stuff and got their HEA. Overall, I really liked this book and it has made me want to read more books by this author because I really enjoyed her writing.

Blog Tour: Totally, Sweetly Irrevocably by Kira Archer (+ Review)

Synopsis:

When Officer Rick Boyd answers a call about a peeping Tom, he doesn’t expect to find a gorgeous woman holding the binoculars. But Gina Silvano’s no peeping Tom, and she can catch her cupcake truck’s kinky vandals herself, thank you very much. No sexy cops required.

No matter how hot their stakeouts, by-the-book Officer Boyd can’t see a future with a dangerous, rule-breaking wild-child who despises the law. He’s never felt more alive, though, and expunging her from his heart might be impossible.

But loving each other might cost them more than they are able to give.

About the Author:

Kira Archer resides in Pennsylvania with her husband, two kiddos, and far too many animals in the house. She tends to laugh at inappropriate moments, break all the rules she gives her kids (but only when they aren’t looking), and would rather be reading a book than doing almost anything else. She has odd, eclectic tastes in just about everything and often lets her imagination run away with her. She loves her romances a little playful, a lot sexy, and always with a happily ever after.

Totally, Sweetly Irrevocably was a great contemporary romance! It was the perfect mix of both sweet and steamy and the story was all around so much fun. I had already liked Gina in the previous book in this series, but I loved her even more in this book. She was such a feisty character and while that got her into trouble a lot I loved that she was this way. I also really loved Rick. He wasn't the man I originally though Gina would end up with, but I really liked his character. He could be a little uptight at times, but at the same time it fit him and the story perfectly so I wouldn't have him any other way. The romance between the two of them in this book was fantastic. The author made everything seem real in such a short span of time and I enjoyed it so much. Overall, I really loved this book so much and as of right now this is my favorite book by this author so obviously I highly recommend everyone read it ASAP!

My first thought after finishing this book was why don't I have BFFs who will send sexy strippers to my house. Lol. But in all seriousness I really enjoyed this book. The story was fun and steamy and just all around good. It took a little bit for me to really get into the story, but once I got into it I couldn't put it down. Jane and Chance were two characters that were really fun to read about and I was thoroughly entertained with all the stuff these two got up to throughout the book. It was just all so much fun and I'm glad that this is the first book I've read by this author because it has intrigued me enough to read more of her books to see if they will be just as good.

It's In His Smile was such a sweet romance. The kind that leaves you a little misty eyed at the end because it was just so sweet and you're just so happy and you loved it so much. Miranda and Talmadge and the romance that develops between them was everything I wanted and needed it to be and so much more. It was a rocky road leading to their HEA thanks to their pasts and the gossips in Red River, but I enjoyed every second of it. Shelly's writing completely sucked me into the story and I couldn't get enough of these characters and the happenings of this town. Overall, this book was absolutely wonderful and I loved it so much. This is only the first book I have read by this author, but I can't wait to read some more books by her.

***MY REVIEW***

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 stars

One Week to Score is by far the best in this wonderful romance trilogy by Kate Meader and that is really saying something because I had already loved the first two books in this series to pieces. I had already thought that Brody and Emma's story was Kate Meader at her best, but with Flynn and Olivia's story she outdid herself once again. Everything about this book was absolutely perfect in my opinion. I was so on board with everything that was going with these two that I didn't even get annoyed by some of the idiot decisions these two made. Kate Meader just made everything flow so perfectly and everything that happened fit these characters. As always the way that the romance developed was my favorite part of the story, but I also just loved getting to see the changes that both Flynn and Olivia went though to get to that point where they were able to get their HEA.

Also, I can't close this review without saying how much I loved that Brody and Emma almost stole the show with their appearances in this book. They were just as adorable as I remember them being and I loved that Kate Meader gave them some page time amid all the Flynn and Olivia wonderfulness.

Overall, I loved this book so much. As of right now it is my favorite book by this author and I can't wait until I can set aside some time in the Fall to re-read all three books in this series because I already miss these wonderful characters and their sizzling and heartwarming love stories.

***MY REVIEW***

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4 out of 5 stars

So this is going to be one of the more vague reviews I ever write since I read this book over two months ago and don't remember as many of the nitty gritty details as I would like, but what I do remember is how I felt when I finished this book back in April and that feeling was amazement that Chanel Cleeton had once again managed to suck me into one of her novels and make me fall in love with these characters and their story. Granted Thor/Eric and Becca weren't my favorite of this author's couples, that honor is reserved for Easy and his love interest and if you read this book and Fly with Me you will understand why, but they were still really great and I loved reading about them. I have a soft spot for second chance romances and this one was one that keeps you captivated from start to finish and makes you feel all the things as these two learn to get pass their past history and actually take a chance to make a relationship work between the two of them.

Also if I'm remembering correctly this book does a marvelous job of tying into the first book and everything that happened there, as well as setting up the next book in the series, which I loved most of all because the thing I love the most about series like this are all the connections. So, yeah, Into the Blue is a great book that I look forward to rereading not only to refresh my memory about certain details, but to just experience it again for it's awesomeness!

ARC Review: Engaging the Bachelor by Cathryn Fox

Title: Engaging the Bachelor

Author: Cathryn Fox

Synopsis:

Pretending to date this doctor is a prescription for trouble…

Hot, Southampton doctor, Carson Reynolds isn’t the kind of man Gemma Carr should be playing with. But his offer of a fake engagement comes with sexy, late night house calls, and despite her bad girl reputation, it’s been far too long since she’s taken two and called anyone in the morning.

When Carson sees Gemma at a charity event, he knows he has to have her. It’s been ten years since he’s had her in his arms, but that hasn’t lessened his intense need for her. To save her reputation and get his parents off his back, he makes her an offer she can’t refuse.

It’s the perfect set-up–until this fake engagement starts to feel a little too real…

4 out of 5 stars

Engaging the Bachelor was a super hot contemporary romance! Romances featuring fake relationships are a personal fave of mine, so it is really no surprise that I loved this book as much as I did. The story that follows a doctor and a jewelry maker was so, so good. I loved everything from the little bit of history they had together to the circumstances that caused them to fake a relationship to them actually falling in love. Out of all the aspects of this book that I loved, I loved Carson the most. His character was just so wonderful in my opinion. I also really liked Gemma a lot, but I just didn't understand some of her reasoning for the things she did as much as I wanted to. Regardless of that I really enjoyed how everything progressed in this book. It just all felt really natural when it came to their relationship which allowed me to really become emotionally invested in this romance. Overall I really loved this book. This is only the second book I've read by this author, but it has thoroughly convinced me that I need to invest in more of this author's books in the near future.

ARC Review: Only for a Night by Naima Simone

Title: Only for a Night

Author: Naima Simone

Synopsis:

One night would never be enough…

Rion Ward fought hard to be free of the Irish mob life. Now, as the co-owner of Boston’s hottest aphrodisiac club, he’s traded crime for the ultimate sexual fantasy. But when the “good girl” from his past walks through Lick’s doors, he discovers that his unconsummated hunger for her never abated.

Widowed for two years from a man who felt that anything besides the missionary position was dirty, Harper Shaw is ready to move on. The first step to feeling alive again is sex. Hot, dirty, black-out-from-orgasm sex. And who better to provide it than the brooding, sexy, tatted bad boy-turned-man she’s known for years?

Rion, however, has one stipulation: He’ll be hers only for one night. One night to explore her every fantasy. One night to push her limits.  One night to introduce her to a passion that makes both doubt if it will be enough…

5 out of 5 stars

Only for a Night, one of the first books to be published by Entangled's Scorched imprint so delivered on everything I was promised. This book was all types of steamy and then some. But at the same time the book was more than just one sex scene after another. Naima Simone delivered an all around great story. I became really invested in Harper and Rion's story and loved reading about them and the romance that sparks between them when she enters his club and enters into a one-night arrangement with him.

My only complaint when it came to this book was that it ended way too soon. As much as I loved the way Naima concluded the story, at the end I still wanted so much more of Harper and Rion. Out of all of the stories I've read by Naima Simone, Harper and Rion were the couple I was must upset to say goodbye to. I needed more! Thankfully, there are still a couple more books left in this series, so hopefully we'll get some small glimpses of this hot couple in the future.

Release Blast: Chasing Impossible by Katie McGarry

Chasing Impossible is finally available for purchase!!!

Synopsis:

Tough and independent, 17-year-old Abby lets very few people into her inner circle. It’s common knowledge in her Kentucky town that she deals drugs, but not even her closest friends know why. But when a deal goes south and Abby’s suddenly in danger, she finds herself reluctantly forced to lean on daredevil Logan—a boy whose restless spirit matches her own.

Logan has his own reasons for wanting to keep Abby at arms’ length. But he never expected to find in her the one person who might help him face the demons he’s tried so hard to run from.

Together, Abby and Logan will have to make a decision: let their current circumstances weigh them down forever…or fight for the future they both thought was impossible.

Excerpt:

Abby

People near the stage scream and clap and I’m about ready to throw my cell against the wall. Stupid, stupid boy and stupid me for stupidly somewhat liking him and him thinking he can get away with not answering me.

“Give it up for our boy Logan.”

My eyes rip up, go for the stage, and my mind shifts into reverse, fast-forward, rewind, and then that smile that’s associated with the devil slides across my face.

Logan stands strong on the stage. Guitar strapped across his chest. Baseball cap backwards on his black hair. And when he strikes the strings of the guitar, those biceps flex beautifully.

That chord just struck a lot deeper than anyone could have imagined. Past my bones, past my muscles, and it’s created a nice warmth that’s curling around my belly. Liquid warmth.

The logical part of my brain demands that I walk away, but he’s the one that scared me by not answering back. He’s the one that’s causing all these alien emotions stirring in my veins.

Yeah, I shouldn’t kiss Logan. I should definitely leave a boy like that alone. But he returned and he’s the one that climbed onto the stage and is looking addictively sexy with that guitar.

Yep, shouldn’t kiss him, but I already told Rachel, I’m going to kiss the guitarist tonight. Wouldn’t want that one to be a lie, now, would I?
