Blog Tour: Size Matters by Alison Bliss (Review + Giveaway)

The rules of (fake) engagement . . .

Leah Martin has spent her life trying to avoid temptation. But she's sick of low-fat snacks, counting calories, and her hyper-critical mom. Fortunately, her popular new bakery keeps her good and distracted. But there aren't enough éclairs in the world to distract Leah from the hotness that is Sam Cooper - or the fact that he just told her mother that they're engaged . . . which is a big, fat lie.

Sam sometime speaks before he thinks. So what started out as defending Leah's date-ability to her judgmental mother soon turned into having a fiancée! Now the plan is to keep up the fake engagement, stay "just friends," and make Leah's family loathe him enough to just call the whole thing off. But Sam has an insatiable sweet tooth, not only for Leah's decadent desserts but her decadent curves. Her full lips. Her bright green eyes. Yep, things aren't going quite according to plan. Now Sam has to convince Leah that he's for real . . . before their little lie turns into one big, sweet disaster.

About the Author:

Alison Bliss grew up in Small Town, Texas, but currently resides in the Midwest with her husband and two sons. With so much testosterone in her home, it's no wonder she writes "girl books." She believes the best way to know if someone is your soul mate is by canoeing with them because if you both make it back alive, it's obviously meant to be. Alison pens the type of books she loves to read most: fun, steamy love stories with heart, heat, laughter, and usually a cowboy or two. As she calls it, "Romance...with a sense of humor."

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 stars

Size Matters, the first book in Alison Bliss's A Perfect Fit series, was a phenomenal contemporary romance novel. I've been a diehard fan of Alison Bliss for a couple of years now so I new I would like this book, but I was unprepared for how much I ended up loving this book. It was absolutely amazing in every way.

First off, the main couple in this book were fantastic. Leah was so normal and I couldn't help but love her especially since she was a plus-sized heroine. I was really able to relate to a lot of her insecurities and her general way of being and as a result that made me more invested in reading her story and seeing her find love. Sam was also a really great character. I really loved how he was there for Leah even though he barely knew her and the way that he pushed her to 100% accept that being a little curvier didn't mean she was less desirable and beautiful. I also really loved the way he was with her family. A lot of their interactions were absolutely adorable and really proved how great a guy his character was. With that said, he wasn't perfect. He did have his own issues that made me want to bang my head against the wall a couple of times while reading, but in the end none of that mattered.

Secondly, the romance in this novel was phenomenal. It is no secret that I love the fake relationship trope in romance and Size Matters is definitely one of my top five examples of it. My love of fake relationships aside, I just really loved Sam and Leah together and the way that the author set everything up between them was so perfect. Everything progressed at a steady pace that wasn't too fast or too slow, so I was able to really savor their love story without feeling dissatisfied or getting bored in any way. In other words, the love story was flawless and when I got to the end of this book I was a very happy romance reader.

Overall, I loved this book so much! It was an absolutely wonderful feel-good contemporary romance and is definitely one of my top reads of the year!
