This week my "Waiting on Wednesday" pick is Her Accidental Husband by Ashlee Mallory!

Synopsis:

Once upon a road trip to Mexico…

Payton Vaughn’s trip to Puerto Vallarta for her friend’s wedding was her big escape from her ridiculously overbearing mother-oh, and that little matter with her cheating fiancé. Now, her flight’s been cancelled, and she’s crammed into a tiny car with the gorgeous-but-irritating best man.

Viva la road trip from hell…

Cruz Sorensen doesn’t have time to babysit some spoiled socialite, even if she is the future daughter-in-law of the man who could change the fortune of his family’s company. He has no business getting to know her better-not even for all the tequila in Mexico…until they wake up with grande-sized hangovers as man and wife.

Now Payton and Cruz must decide if they’ve reached the end of their journey…or the beginning of a new adventure.

Her Accidental Husband releases October 12, 2015!

Why I'm waiting:

Last weekend, I discovered Ashlee Mallory and read the first book in this series, Her Backup Boyfriend, and loved it! As a result, I am now super excited for this book because I'm dying to know what Mallory has in store for these characters next especially since this book is going to focus on Cruz. There is just something about him that really resonated with me and I need to know more about him. Thankfully, I only have to wait a couple more week until this book goes live!

So what are y'all waiting on this week?

Review: Scorched by R. Holmes

Title: Scorched

Author: R. Holmes

Synopsis:

We once burned like a fire, raging and consuming and I spent my life loving him. I didn't have a choice.

And then, he was gone; leaving my heart aching and my soul empty.

Time doesn't heal a damn thing and pain comes in many forms.

But time only makes that pain ache deeper.

It makes forgetting impossible.

Every love has its story.

This one is ours.

***MY REVIEW***

1 out of 5 stars

Scorched was a book I'd been super excited about. Everything about it from the cover to the blurb to the hot promotional teasers convinced me that I was going to love this book. Unfortunately, as much as it pains me to admit it that was not the case. While I liked the plot of the story, this book just didn't do it for me. I was not a fan of the way the author chose to structure this book especially since there were no dividing chapters. This affected the flow of the book in a way that I don't think worked and as result I wasn't able to really get into the story. Despite all the potential I thought this story had, it really just fell flat for me, which is really a bummer because I really wanted to like it.

Review: Ghost of You by Kelly Moran

Title: Ghost of You

Author: Kelly Moran

Synopsis:

The safest place is with the guy she doesn’t trust…

It’s no secret amongst the Phantoms crew that lead investigator Sammy Hanesworth pretty much hates psychologist Cain McClutchen. The tension between them is taut with dislike…and unexpected attraction. Cain knows full well that something about him rubs Sammy the wrong way. But now they’re on a terrifying case-with orders from the network to get along or else.

Filled with past horrors, the Nebraskan site is more than creepy. And Sammy knows it all too well. It’s her hometown and near the place where her mother was killed. As the sinister presence makes itself known, Sammy finds herself turning to the last person she ever expected-Cain. Even as darkness surrounds them, tensions gives way to something bright and unexpectedly intimate. But nothing will prepare them for the evil they are about to face…

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

It is no secret that I absolutely love Kelly Moran, and Ghost of You, the third book in her Phantoms series, just made me love her even more, if that was even possible. This book was wonderful. Definitely my favorite of the Phantoms books. Kelly delivered a steamy enemies to lovers romance with a suspenseful paranormal twist that grabbed my attention from the very first page.

I loved Cain and Sammy and the rest of the Phantoms crew, obviously. And the case that the team was working on in this book was thrilling and terrifying, and honestly the cause of the haunting at the school and church really did shock me. I really did not see it coming along with how Sammy was connected to the haunted site.

However, as much as I loved the book, I was not a fan of how quickly the case was resolved once they figured what and who was the cause. Before I realized the full scale of what was going on, it was all over and I ended up having to reread a bit or maybe that's just because I read too quickly sometimes when I get excited. Lol. Either way once everything was said and done, this book had the most satisfying ending off all three books. Seriously, the end of this book made me so happy because after the shit that Cain and Sammy had to deal with in their pasts and during this case they really deserved that HEA.

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

While Playing with Trouble is still my favorite in this series, Falling for Danger, the third and final installment in Chanel Cleeton's series was a very satisfying and thrilling romantic read. The author didn't hold back with this book and this series ended with a bang with an ending that made me cry all the happy tears.

Needless to say, I really loved this book. While I wasn't so sure about whether I liked Kate's character in previous books, she really one me over in this book. I also loved that Matt was the hero. Not only was he perfect for Kate, obviously, his presence and his past gave the book a heart-pounding, high-stakes, scandalous, and dangerous plot that had me finishing this book in record time because I couldn't wait to know what was going to happen next. Seriously, the plot in this book was just amazing and left my heart racing even after I finished reading.

Overall, I loved this book, these characters, this entire series to pieces. Falling for Danger is the perfect example of how to write a satisfying suspenseful romance novel and while I'm sad to say goodbye to these beautiful characters, I am happy that this how the author chose to end their story.

Review: Dirty Talk by Megan Erickson

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

Dirty Talk, the second installment in the Mechanics of Lover series, was another great book by the amazing Megan Erickson. Her writing really just keeps getting better and better and as of right now Dirty Talk is my favorite of her books.

This book checked off all the boxes for what I consider to be a grade-A contemporary romance. It was humorous. It was sweet. It was steamy. And surprisingly it was very emotional and serious given that it about the most carefree of the Payton brothers. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Brent and Ivy and getting to see how their relationship progressed. I especially loved reading about Ivy's daughter, Violet and the interactions that Brent had with her. My heart almost couldn't take the cuteness.

The one thing that I didn't like about this book is that it didn't really go into detail about Ivy and her sister Alex's past as much as I wanted it to. As a result, the fact that the sisters were so afraid of their past coming to Tory to haunt them didn't feel as impactful as I think it was supposed to be. But given that the next book in this series is about Alex, hopefully the questions I had about their pasts will be answered then.

Overall, this book was definitely another win for me reading-wise and has proven without a doubt that my slightly obsessive love for Megan Erickson's books is not unfounded.

As desire flares and temperatures rise, Gage and Brady will have to figure out if the heat between them is just a temporary flash—or the beginning of something real.

***MY REVIEW***

4 out of 5 stars

Gage Simpson was one of the highlights for me in the first book in this series and I am super happy that he got his own story even if it is just a novella. This short and steamy novella was really steamy and intense and I loved every single word of this novella. My heart broke for both Gage and Brady at the beginning of their story because of what Gage had to deal with growing up with a crazy, homophobic mother and what Brady had to survived during his time in the Marines, but it made the happiness and peace they found and fought for together all the more gratifying.

Overall, I loved this nice and quick novella. It was a great addition to the Hot in Chicago and has succeeded in not only satisfying my need for a book about Gage but has also increased my excitement for what's to come for the remaining Dempseys.

Review: Flirting with Fire by Kate Meader

Title: Flirting with Fire

Author: Kate Meader

Synopsis:

The first installment in Hot in Chicago, a brand-new, sizzling series from Kate Meader that follows a group of firefighting foster siblings and their blazing hot love interests!

Savvy PR guru Kinsey Taylor has always defined herself by her career, not her gender. That is, until she moved from San Francisco to Chicago to be with her fiancé who thought she wasn’t taking her “job” of supporting him in his high-powered career seriously enough—and promptly dumped her for a more supportive and “feminine” nurse. Now, as the new assistant press secretary to Chicago’s dynamic mayor, she’s determined to keep her eye on the prize: no time to feel inferior because she’s a strong, kick-ass woman, and certainly no time for men.

But that all changes when she meets Luke Almeida, a firefighter as searingly sexy as he is quick-tempered. He’s also the second oldest of the Firefightin’ Dempseys, a family of foster siblings who have committed their lives to the service—if Luke’s antics don’t get him fired first. When Luke goes one step too far and gets into a bar brawl with the Chicago Police Department, Kinsey marches into Luke’s firehouse and lays down the law on orders from the mayor. But at Engine Co. 6, Luke Almeida is the law. And he’s not about to let Kinsey make the rules.

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

Flirting with Fire is a book that has been on my radar since before it was released, but for some reason I kept putting off buying it. Now thanks to a great sale, I finally bought it and read it and it really was an awesome, sizzling romance. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Luke and Kinsey and the rest of the Dempseys.

Luke and Kinsey were both extremely well-developed characters that I couldn't help but root for. Luke was my favorite kind of hero. Hot and loyal. And Kinsey was such a kick-ass character in her own right. The way she dealt with Luke and other situations that were thrown her way had me applauding her awesomeness many times.

However, as much as I loved Luke and Kinsey the best part of this book truly were Luke's foster siblings and the love and loyalty that they felt for each other even though they weren't blood related. All the scenes in which they were joking around or looking out for each other really did it for me and I might have shed some sappy, happy tears.

This book had all the fixings of a satisfying romance: relatable characters, an exciting plot, and a sizzling romance. I loved this book so much and am looking forward to seeing what Kate Meader has in store for these characters next.

***MY REVIEW***

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 stars

Delicious Complication, the second book in Sabrina Sol's Delicious Desires was amazing! I loved it even more than I did the first book, Delicious Temptation, which is saying something because I fucking loved that book.

With this book the author once again delivered a steamy love story with realistic Latino characters which is a really big deal for me. Brandon was all kinds of swoon-worthy. How devoted he was to his mother and sister was really endearing and made me love him all the more. Speaking of his family, his mother was one of the most realistic portrayals of a Puerto Rican mother I have ever had the pleasure to read. Seriously, her character reminded me so much of the older women in my crazy Puerto Rican family and that made me connect with the book so much more. I also really loved the heroine, Daisy. She was so easy to relate to. Even more so than Amara, the heroine of the first book.

The plot of this book was really fun. I really love books that feature fake relationships that become real and serious and this one was particularly amazing. The amount of drama that the characters had to deal with wasn't too crazy and I liked how the book stayed focus on the relationship that was developing between Brandon and Daisy instead of having all these outside forces working against them.

Overall, I loved this book so much! I know I've already said that but seriously I LOVED this book! Everything from the romance to the characters was pretty much flawless in my opinion and although the year isn't over yet I feel confident in saying this might be my #1 favorite romance for the year.

Review: Can't Resist Him by Molly McLain

Title: Can't Resist Him

Author: Molly McLain

Synopsis:

Sometimes what you want and what you need are two very different things.

Always relegated to the “friends with benefits” corner of small town River Bend, Jenny Riley is done giving the milk for free. Falling hard for a bad boy? Not in the plan, either.

Sexy, emotionally-wounded Marine Reservist Brody Nelson just needs someone to lend an ear. A friend. Friends to lovers? That’s more than he bargained for.

Neither wants a relationship. A long distance friendship should be enough.

It’s not.

Warning: This books contains a tattooed, pierced hero with a few surprises up his sleeve...and a hella sexy one down his pants.

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

The River Bend series really just keeps on getting better and better. Can't Resist Him which focuses on characters Jenny and Brody really blew me away. It was everything I expect from a Molly McLain book and so much more. I didn't think I would love a couple more than Tony and Nicole but Brody and Jenny really gave them a run for their money. I just loved them so much.

The thing I loved most about this book is that while it was more serious than previous installments because of the focus on Brody's PTSD, it still managed to retain the light-hearted feel that I have come to expect from a River Bend book. Also the pace at which the the relationship developed was pretty much perfect and I loved how committed to Brody, Jenny was and the affect that she had on him. It really made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Overall, I though this book was pretty much flawless. Molly McLain has once again delivered a satisfying, emotional, heart-warming romance novel and has made me super excited to see what she is going to come up with next.

Warning: This book contains a hero who’s all business and no play…unless there’s a dress and a hot redhead involved.

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

I really don't have much to say about this installment in the River Bend series other than Molly McClain has done it yet again. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Mark and Ally and their complicated and unconventional romance. Molly McLain truly delivered a sexy, heartfelt romantic story and has proved without a doubt exactly why she is one of my all-time favorite authors! Seriously this book was so good and I highly recommend any lover of small-town romance invest their time in this book and series.

Review: Can't Get Enough by Molly McLain

Title: Can't Get Enough

Author: Molly McLain

Synopsis:

When life gives you lemons, find a former Marine with sexy abs to lick the lemonade from…

Tony Dunn’s panty-snatching bachelor life has been turned upside down—he now has custody of a daughter he didn’t even know he fathered. With his focus solely on doing right by his little girl, the last thing he needs is a sexy, totally distracting blonde showing up on his doorstep.

Nicole Hodges is in River Bend temporarily, to handle her grandmother’s estate and get the heck out of Dodge before her past catches up with her. Only problem is…she likes the quiet little town more than she expects, and she can’t resist overextending herself to help her built-like-a-bad-boy neighbor get his life back on track.

Tony and Nicole have different goals in mind, none of which include a relationship. But what harm could come from a little fun–the naked kind–if they both know the rules up front?

Warning: This book contains a sex-deprived single dad with a wicked tongue. Enough said.

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

Can't Get Enough was another amazing addition to Molly McLain's River Bend series! I absolutely loved reading about Tony and Nicole. Out of all the men of River Bend, Tony is definitely my favorite because seriously there is nothing more adorable than a really sexy guy with a baby. I also really liked Nicole, just like Carissa and Maddie in the previous books she was extremely relatable and the reasons for the decisions that she makes actually made sense even though I didn't necessarily agree with her from time to time.

But while I really loved Tony and Nicole, the real star of this book was baby Brianna. She was the cutest and I really loved to see the way the other characters interacted with her and the way her little infant self brought Tony and Nicole together. Another highlight of this book is the way that the author dealt with the baby mama drama. I started the book ready to hate Brianna's mother but was happy that she ended up being a fairly reasonable woman and that she wasn't out to ruin Tony's life or cause him any problems.

The romance between Tony and Nicole in this book was perfect. The pacing and the way everything developed was very organic and seemed very realistic. Even the parts that made me sad when everything seemed like it was falling apart was perfect and I couldn't get enough of these two characters.

I loved this book too much! While I have loved all the books in the River Bend series, this book is by far my favorite and I can't recommend it and this series as a whole enough.

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

I usually have a love-hate relationship with novellas but I straight up loved Can't Hold Back and don't really have that much to say about it other than it was a nice, short, and ridiculously steamy read. It satisfied my craving to read a book about Dan and Maddie after getting to know them in the first book in this series, Can't Shake You, and has made me even more obsessed with Molly McLain's writing.

Review: Can't Shake You by Molly McLain

Title: Can't Shake You

Or will the smoldering embers of their passionate rendezvous ignite all over again and set aflame the friendships they cherish the most?

Warning: This book contains a hella-sexy, inked up hero, a spunky heroine who isn’t afraid to speak her mind, smokin’ hot sex, and enough swearing to make your momma blush. For readers 18+.

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

After hearing some good things about Molly McLain's books from some of my most trusted book friends, I decided to read it and that was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. I say this a lot but this book was truly perfect for me and had everything that I loved in a contemporary romance novel.

The lovers to friends to lovers storyline really worked. It kept me interested from start to finish and the side mystery about who was targeting Josh and vandalizing his construction sites was also really intriguing. But the best part about this book were the characters. The residents of River Bend really wormed their way into my heart. I really loved Josh and Carissa as well as all of their friends. Hell, the author even made me love Carissa's ex-boyfriend, Reed, which was truly impressive. Lol.

Anywho, the romance in this book was adorable and really warmed my heart. Granted, I did get annoyed by the decision on their part to keep their relationship a secret because honestly they are adults and things could have been solved so easily if they had just talked it over with their friends but that little annoyance didn't prevent me from thoroughly enjoying their story.

Overall, this book was a really great romance and has made me a instant diehard fan of Molly McLain.

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

It's no secret that I love student-teacher romance stories so when I realized that Playing with Trouble featured one I didn't hesitate to buy it for my Nook and read it immediately especially given how much I loved the first book. Playing for Trouble ended up exceeding all of my expectations. I loved it so much. Even more than I loved Flirting with Scandal and I loved that book a lot.

The romance in this book was beautiful. The way the author built it up from the instant attraction between the two of them in class to an actual meaningful relationship was perfect. But what I really loved about this book was not the romance but Blair's character. She starts off the book doing her best to be the perfect daughter and make everyone else happy to finally standing up for herself and doing what makes her happy. She was a character I could really connect with and root for. As for Gray, he was your typical brooding hero and I loved him oh so much.

Overall, as I said already, I really loved this book! Chanel Cleeton truly wrote an outstanding romantic story and I can't wait to read more books by her.

The illegitimate daughter of one of the most influential senators in Washington, D.C., she grew up surrounded by the scandals and shadows of politics. Now that she’s landed an internship with a powerful political consulting firm, she’s determined to launch her career and take this city by storm.

William Andrew Clayton was born for politics. He knows the drill: work hard, play discreetly, and at all costs, avoid scandal. At twenty-six, his campaign for the Virginia State Senate is the first step to cementing his future. It’s time for him to settle down, to find the perfect political spouse. He needs a Jackie Kennedy, not a Marilyn…

When Jackie meets Will in the bar of the Hay-Adams Hotel, sparks fly. But the last thing Will needs is to be caught in a compromising position, and an affair with a political candidate could cost Jackie her career. When what began as one steamy night, becomes a passion neither one of them can walk way from, they must decide if what they have is really love, or just another dirty little secret…

5 out of 5 stars

I have to admit that I am not the biggest fan of romance books set against a political backdrop but I had been dying to read a Chanel Cleeton book for some time now and Flirting with Scandal, the first book in her Capital Confessions series, was on sale so I decided to give it a shot. And good Lord I am so happy that I decided to give this book a chance because it was fucking amazing! I absolutely loved reading about Jackie and Will. Their story was super hot and scandalous and I couldn't get enough of them. Given that I'm usually not the biggest fan of books featuring politics, I really liked that Cleeton managed to make the political stuff important to the plot but not to overwhelming or over the top. The politics and romance were balanced perfectly and made this book a really fun and satisfying romance novel.

Review: Into My Arms by Lia Riley

Title: Into My Arms

Author: Lia Riley

Synopsis:

"You’re here because I want to touch you.”

Beth Jacobs spends her days slogging away in a corporate “fish bowl,” as the hard-working assistant for one of North America’s youngest dot-com billionaires. Aleksander “Z” Zavtra is the definition of dark and dangerous with a sexy Eastern European snarl. He’s also ruthless. Curt. Exacting. An infuriating man she loves to hate. While Beth hardly sees him, it’s as if he’s always watching her . . .

Z doesn’t do romance. But he never expected to be captivated by a whip-smart, fiery assistant who just so happens to share an uncanny resemblance to the beautiful face that haunts his dreams. He craves Beth. He wants to stroke her skin, to feel her heat beneath him. And what Z wants, he gets. And for one weekend, the lines between employer and employee are blurred as Z and Beth give themselves completely to the dark pleasures they’ve both been dreaming about.

4 out of 5 stars

I had been waiting for this book for what seemed like forever and a day but in the end Beth and Z's story was definitely worth the wait! Despite being a novella it was just as good as Riley's other novels and surprisingly super intense and emotional. Granted because it was a novella everything happened super fast but that pace gave their story this desperate and passionate feel that seemed fitting for these characters. The only complaint I had about this final book in Riley's Off the Map series is that it ended. I still want to see much more of Beth and Z and with them Bran, Talia, Sunny, and Tanner. But that's a me problem not a book problem. Overall, I really enjoyed this short, emotional read as much as it pained me to say goodbye to all of these awesome characters and I see a lot of re-reads of this amazing series in my future.

Review: His Lover to Protect by Katee Robert

Title: His Lover to Protect

Author: Katee Robert

Synopsis:

He’s never met a challenge he couldn’t take…

Alexis Yeung did everything right….only to watch everything go horribly, horribly wrong. Broken and angry, Alexis high-tails it to Europe, determined to face the world on her own terms and without consequence. Which includes a mind-blowing night with a sexy, scarred stranger.

Except, embittered former pararescuer Luke Jackson isn’t exactly a stranger. He’s supposed to keep an eye on Alexis without her knowing. Ending up in bed together was definitely not the plan. Now he’s chasing her (admittedly hot) ass across Europe, a game of cat and mouse that always ends with the two of them tangled up in the sheets.

Something in their scarred, damaged souls calls to each other. And God help them, the sex is unbelievably hot. But if Alexis discovers who Luke really is, he’ll lose the one thing that makes him feel whole…

***MY REVIEW***

4 out of 5 stars

Whenever I pick up a book by Katee Robert I know I'm in for a fun, steamy romantic read and His Lover to Protect was no exception. Alexis and Luke's story was super fun, quick, and cute read. I really enjoyed reading about the romance that developed between the two of them as they traveled together. I especially liked that Robert managed to touch on the emotional baggage and heartbreaking pasts of both characters in a realistic and satisfying way without making the book too intense or overwhelming. I also really loved that the story was super fast-paced. There was never a dull moment or moments that seemed to drag. It was almost perfect.

Overall, I really liked this book. It was such a heartwarming, beautiful romance and I'm so happy that Katee Robert decided to give these two characters there happily-ever-after because out of all the characters featured in this series these two really deserved it the most.

Waiting on Wednesday: Crashed Out AND Thrown Down by Tessa Bailey

Since I completely forgot to post my "Waiting on Wednesday" pick last week I've decided to do another double pick this week. And my two picks for this week are the first two books in Tessa Bailey's upcoming Made in Jersey series, Crashed Out and Thrown Down!!!

Synopsis:

His inspiration. His torment. And his temptation…

Jasmine Taveras is the reason Sarge Purcell grabbed his six-string and bailed the hell out of New Jersey four years ago. She’s the fuel for every song he’s ever written-each one laced with bitter, hard-edged, hungry lust. Now, with his hugely successful band is on temporary hiatus, Sarge is determined to prove to Jasmine that this “kid” turned into every inch the man she’s always needed…

Men are slim pickings for a single factory girl in Hook, New Jersey…until tall, broad-shouldered hotness walks-or rather storms-into Jasmine’s life. Sarge’s return shouldn’t affect her this way. He’s her best friend’s much younger kid brother, and the kind of rough, gritty, sexiness Jasmine has no right to taste for herself. Even if he lets her.

But lust is a blinding, insatiable force. And when it crashes, it will take both Sarge and Jasmine down with it…

Crashed Out releases December 7, 2015!

Synopsis:

He has one last chance to deserve the girl of his dreams…

Overachiever River Purcell was never supposed to be a struggling single mom, working double shifts just to make ends meet. Nor was she supposed to be abandoned by her high school sweetheart, breaking her heart into a thousand jagged pieces. Now Vaughn De Matteo is back in town, his sights set on her…and River is in danger of drowning a second time.

No one believed Hook’s resident bad boy was good enough for River. Not even Vaughn himself. But he’ll fight like hell to win back the woman he never stopped loving, to keep the daughter he never expected, and convince himself he’s worth their love in the process even if he has to rely on their fierce and undeniable sexual chemistry.

But even as River’s body arches under his hungered touch, the demons of the past lurk in the shadows. Waiting for Vaughn to repeat his mistakes one last time…

Thrown Down releases April 4, 2016!

Why I'm waiting:

Tessa Bailey is like the queen of romance in my opinion. I will read pretty much anything she decides to write so unsurprisingly I am crazy excited for these two books to be released! But honestly even if Tessa Bailey wasn't the author these two Brazen books would still be must-reads for me because I could never resist a book about a hot rock star or a book about a second chance romance!

So what are y'all waiting on this Wednesday?

***"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.***

Review: Wilde at Heart by Tonya Burrows

Title: Wilde at Heart

Author: Tonya Burrows

Synopsis:

He has everything under control. Except her.

Reece Wilde put everything in his life on the backburner to protect his brothers and their struggling company, Wilde Security. With a major contract on the line, Reece can’t afford any mistakes…like getting caught in a red-hot, X-rated moment with wild child Shelby Bremer, who’s more trouble than he can handle. Now he’s being blackmailed.

Shelby’s mile-long impulsive streak gets her in more trouble than she’d like to admit. Between her sister’s wedding, her coffee shop set on fire, and getting down and dirty with the groom’s brother, things are definitely coming off the rails. With both their careers and their safety on the line, Reece is determined to keep them both safe…even if it means a Vegas-style shotgun wedding.

But gambling on a wild card—and a wild soul—is risky…and sometimes, it can get a guy killed.

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

With Wilde at Heart I have become convinced that Tonya Burrows is incapable of writing a book that I will not like. I absolutely loved Reece and Shelby which is saying something because they were my least favorite characters in previous books but they totally won me over in this book. Sure, there were still instanced in which I wanted to smack them but they learned from their mistakes and ended up becoming my second favorite couple in this series behind Jude and Libby.

The romance in this book was both sweet and steamy and the mystery centered around the blackmail and arson incidents were on point. While the identity of the arsonist kind of became obvious about two-thirds of the way through the book I was totally shocked by who ended up being Reece's blackmailer and why.

Overall, Wilde at Heart was another great installment in Burrow's Wilde Security series and I can't wait to see what's up next for brothers Vaughn and Greer based on the little glimpses we got of them in this book.

Launch Day Blitz: Into My Arms by Lia Riley (+ Cover Reveal for With Every Breath!!!)

Today's the day! The last book in Lia Riley's Off the Map series, Into My Arms is now live and I couldn't be happier!

Synopsis:

"You're here because I want to touch you."

Beth Jacobs spends her days slogging away in a corporate "fish bowl," as the hard-working assistant for one of North America's youngest dot-com billionaires. Aleksander "Z" Zavtra is the definition of dark and dangerous with a sexy Eastern European snarl. He's also ruthless. Curt. Exacting. An infuriating man she loves to hate. While Beth hardly sees him, it's as if he's always watching her . . .

Z doesn't do romance. But he never expected to be captivated by a whip-smart, fiery assistant who just so happens to share an uncanny resemblance to the beautiful face that haunts his dreams. He craves Beth. He wants to stroke her skin, to feel her heat beneath him. And what Z wants, he gets. And for one weekend, the lines between employer and employee are blurred as Z and Beth give themselves completely to the dark pleasures they've both been dreaming about.

Excerpt:

“Kiss me,” I challenge him. He twists around words and dances from truths. But he can’t evade body language.

He gazes at me as if I’m something he’s never seen. “I tell you how I did a terrible thing, and you offer a kiss.”

“There is much you aren’t saying, so maybe we need to streamline the conversation. Your lips touching mine. What could be simpler.”

For once, I have taken him by total surprise.

“Or more destructive,” he says.

“You kiss me with your eyes every time you look at me.”

“Ah.” He goes utterly still then. “Very well, then. Yes. I think I understand.”

“I want you to do it,” I say softly, reaching out my hand. “Please. What can I call you? Aleksander?”

“No, that’s what he used to call me, the bastard who was my father. At boarding school, I was Sander, and that, too, never felt right, not exactly.”

“So what do you prefer?”
“Call me whatever you like. You are the exception to my rule. The exception to all my rules.”

“Why?” My voice is breathless, more than a little unsteady.

“If I knew that, I’d be a wiser man than I am now.” His eyes close and his next breath is long, slow, and shuddering. “If I kiss you, will you hold still?”

Hold still if he actually kisses me? The idea of his full lips slanting on mine, his hard chest pushing insistent against my breasts is enough to make me writhe all on its own. “No.”

His gaze snaps to mine.

“How can I promise such a thing? After all, a kiss isn’t one-sided, at least not a good kiss.”

He stands, wiping his hands on his suit pants, his shirt a little wrinkled.

He walks to the window and looks out at nothing but night, seeing only his own ghost face reflection, and my own behind him. He places a hand on the glass and the heat from his skin heats the pane. When he turns, it remains, a foggy imprint.

I move to the end of the bed, hang my feet off, the robe slipping off one shoulder.

He is there then. I don’t even have time to register movement. He braces his hands on either side of the mattress, on the outside of my thighs, and there is no more oxygen in the room. The flame in his expression has sucked it all out.

His lips crush mine as if time has run out. We don’t have the night, or the hours left to the weekend. There is only and ever this moment. No play-acting or showing off. No coy moves. It’s need, pure and raw, urgent and fierce. His lips are cooler than I imagined. A distant place in me registers that thought. Cool expect there is his tongue, easing against mine, and the contrast makes me sigh.

The moments when I realize I exist are infrequent. Flashes of realization that I am alive, and this is an actual life that I am living and for those few precious moments I’m on the outside, looking at my whole world and seeing it not for what it normally feels like, an all-consuming crushing adventure rather than a spider’s web tangling me.

And that’s what this. His lips. My lips. Nothing else is touching. Not hands or bodies. Not even our faces. Only our hungry mouths.

Review: Broken Honor by Tonya Burrows

Title: Broken Honor

Author: Tonya Burrows

Synopsis:

Ice-cold and unbreakable, Travis Quinn is the HORNET team’s hard-ass. No weaknesses. Mara could never resist the dangerously sexy Travis, which is probably how she ended up pregnant and disowned by her family. But before Travis can fully process the news, Mara is kidnapped by his enemies and plunged into the violent, merciless world of human trafficking. They want Travis—and the information locked within his damaged memory—no matter the cost. And now Travis’s enemies have discovered his only weakness…Mara.

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

By the time I got to Broken Honor, the third book in Tonya Burrows' HORNET series, I had already read four other marvelous books by this author and therefore knew what kind of story I could expect but still I was so unprepared by how much this book gutted me! It's been a while since I've read a book that has made me feel as many emotions as this book did.

Tonya Burrows really didn't hold back with this book. From the very first page the book was super intense and had me on the edge of my seat and I LOVED every word. I especially loved that all the loose ends from the previous two books were finally tied up but good Lord when everything was revealed I felt like the author had ripped out my heart and stomped on it because the source of the threat against my favorite men was so shocking it took me a minute to wrap my mind around it. Seriously, it was such a mindfuck. But despite all the craziness, at it's core this book was a really heartwarming romance. I really loved Quinn and Mara together. They complimented each other beautifully.

If it wasn't obvious already I loved this book a ridiculous amount and I'm dying to know what Burrows has in store for the men of HORNET next!

Review: Honor Reclaimed by Tonya Burrows

Teaming up with a ragtag team of mercenaries is the last thing she wants to do—especially when she realizes Seth Harlan is assigned to the mission. He may ignite a passion in her she thought long dead, but Phoebe’s hiding a secret that could destroy him.

With a bomb in the mix, HORNET’s mission is suddenly about a lot more than an abandoned soldier. Racing against the clock, Seth, Phoebe, and the rest of the team struggle to stop a ruthless warlord bent on power, revenge…and death.

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

Out of all the books I have read by Tonya Burrows, Honor Reclaimed was the most heartbreakingly beautiful. Seth is one of those characters that you can't help but love even though he is so broken and traumatized. The connection between him and Phoebe really tugged at my heart strings and I really loved the way the author handled their story. Once again Burrows effortlessly managed to balance the romance with the thrilling, fast-paced suspenseful storyline that really makes her books perfect for me and as always I couldn't get enough of these characters and the high stakes situations they find themselves in. Needless to say this book has become another favorite of mine and with it Tonya Burrows has become one of my auto-buy authors!

Review: SEAL of Honor by Tonya Burrows

Title: SEAL of Honor

Author: Tonya Burrows

Synopsis:

It’s a good thing Gabe Bristow lives and breathes the Navy SEAL credo, “the only easy day was yesterday,” because today, his life is unrecognizable. When his prestigious career comes to a crashing halt, he’s left with a bum leg and few prospects for employment that don’t include a desk.

That is, until he’s offered the chance to command a private hostage rescue team and free a wealthy American businessman from Colombian paramilitary rebels. It seems like a good deal—until he meets his new team: a drunk Cajun linguist, a boy-genius CIA threat analyst, an FBI negotiator with mob ties, a cowboy medic, and an EOD expert as volatile as the bombs he defuses. Oh, and who could forget the sexy, frustratingly impulsive Audrey Van Amee? She’s determined to help rescue her brother—or drive Gabe crazy. Whichever comes first.

As the death toll rises, Gabe’s team of delinquents must figure out how to work together long enough to save the day. Or, at least, not get themselves killed.Because Gabe’s finally found something worth living for, and God help him if he can’t bring her brother back alive.

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

After reading the first two books in the Wilde Security series and getting glimpses of the men of HORNET I couldn't resist buying this book. SEAL of Honor was absolutely amazing! It's a little lighter on the romance than the books in the author's companion series, Wilde Security, but that's what made Gabe and Audrey's story work. By focusing slightly more on the suspense, this book has more of a sense of urgency that gets your heart racing and prevents you from wanting to put the book down for any reason.

But just because this book is lighter on the romance doesn't mean that the romance featured is any less steamy and swoon-worthy. At a glance, Gabe and Audrey don't seem like a couple that would work but they totally do. You can't help but love the ex- Navy SEAL and the care-free artist and root for them from the moment they meet.

Unsurprisingly, I loved this book so much. As much as I loved the Wilde Security books, this book was so much better and once again I'm so happy I decided to start reading this author's books because they're all exceptional.

Review: Wilde for Her by Tonya Burrows

Title: Wilde for Her

Author: Tonya Burrows

Synopsis:

Friends with benefits just got hotter.

Former homicide detective Camden Wilde has been in love with his ex-partner, Eva Cardoso, for longer than he cares to admit. Not that it matters. She’s shoved him into the friend zone, and after living through the hell of his parents’ violent deaths, Cam’s unable to give her the idyllic life she secretly desires.

Eva’s never met a person who hasn’t let her down. Cam may be sex personified, but he’s the only man she can trust, and there’s no way she’ll risk their friendship on the off-chance they could be more. Especially not after the one scintillating night she’s trying—and failing—to forget.

When a murder-for-hire contract on his head lands Eva on his doorstep, Cam knows it’s time to put up or shut up. He’s done biding his time, and he’ll be damned if he lets the delectable detective ignore what’s between them, no matter the cost.

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

After falling completely in love with Tonya Burrows' writing in Wilde Nights in Paradise, I couldn't resist buying and reading Wilde for Her. Cam and Eva were just as fun and exciting to read about as Jude and Eva and I zoomed through this book even faster than I did the first book!

I really loved that this book at its core is essentially a friends to lovers romance, which is a favorite of mine, but with a thrilling, heart-pounding twist in that someone is out to kill Cam. Also in regards to someone out kill Cam, I especially loved that I was genuinely surprised by who was behind it and why. I seriously did not see it coming!

Overall, I loved this book just as much as Wilde Nights in Paradise. It was another near perfect romantic suspense novel and I can't wait to find out what Burrows' has in store for the remaining Wilde brothers.

Review: Wilde Nights in Paradise by Tonya Burrows

Title: Wilde Nights in Paradise

Author: Tonya Burrows

Synopsis:

He’ll guard her body all night long.

Former Marine Jude Wilde’s motto has always been “burn bridges and never look back,” so nobody is more surprised when Wilde Security is hired to protect assistant district attorney Libby Pruitt, the woman he loved and left. Although she makes it clear she wants nothing to do with Jude, they’re forced to fake a relationship for her safety. He can’t ignore the heat still simmering between them, and when her stalker’s threats escalate to attempted murder, he’s left with no choice but to whisk her away to a friend’s safe house in Key West, FL.

Cooped up in paradise together, Jude begins to chip away at Libby’s resolve to hate him. But even as she gives in to his proximity and her body’s demands for his, she refuses to fall for his charms again. Maybe a torrid affair in the sun is exactly what she needs to get him out of her system. But when her stalker tracks them down, can they escape the steamy Key West night without anyone getting hurt?

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

First off, I feel like I should point out that Tonya Burrows was not an author that had actively been on my radar and that the only reason that I bought this book in the first place was because Entangled Publishing had the book on sale for free. Therefore I went into this book with absolutely no expectations and was so unprepared for how much it was going to affect me.

Wilde Nights in Paradise, the first book in Tonya Burrows' Wilde Security series, was a phenomenal romantic suspense novel. It had me hooked from page one. I just couldn't get enough of Jude, Libby and the other Wilde brothers. Tonya Burrows flawlessly managed to balance out the hot, steamy relationship that was reigniting between Jude and Libby with the suspense created by the mysterious threat against Libby's life. And while the source of the threat against Libby's life was kind of predictable it was still entertaining to see how everything played out.

Overall, I really loved this book! It was the perfect read for me and it makes me sad that had it not been for that sale that I probably would have missed out on all it's awesomeness because seriously this book was EVERYTHING.

Title: Falling for His Best Friend

Author: Katee Robert

He’s going above and beyond the call of duty…

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

From the moment Avery and Drew were introduced in the series I was convinced the two best friends were meant to be together. So imagine my surprise when I finally got up to this book and realized that the author agreed with me. Seriously, I have a soft spot for romances about friends who become lovers and this book was the perfect example as to why I love these types of books so much especially since it also added the pregnancy storyline which is also a favorite of mine.

Falling for His Best Friend was such a beautiful, heartwarming romance. I was really invested in Drew and Avery's relationship and really needed them to get their HEA because they were just oh so perfect for each other which is why I'm so happy that Drew was as stubborn as he was and decided to pursue Avery despite all his hang-ups about relationships and fatherhood thanks to his past.

Overall, this was a really exceptional romance in my eyes! And with it Katee Robert has earned a spot on my auto-buy author list!

Review: His to Keep by Katee Robert

Title: His to Keep

Author: Katee Robert

Synopsis:

Just enough to convince her that a little fun doesn’t sound like a bad idea… and having some naughty fun is an even better one.

Like finding herself deliciously pressed against a dark alley wall by the very familiar and über-hot bod of her best friend’s older brother.

After years of waiting in painful silence, cop Aaron Robinson finally has Marceline’s attention. And man, does he have it. But nothing could have prepared either of them for the rush of fiery lust between them. So he’ll just have to convince Marceline he’s for real. And that a rainy, lust-fuelled romp is the first step to a lifetime of completely imperfect happiness…

***MY REVIEW***

3.5 out of 4 stars

This novella, part of Katee Robert's Out of Uniform series, was a cute, quick read. It was well written and the romance between Marceline and Aaron was sweet but unfortunately I couldn't really connect with the characters mostly due to the fact that their story felt really rushed. I get that this is a novella, so there the story is more condensed but still when I finished reading this book even though I liked the story and the characters I felt kind of dissatisfied with the story. I would have really preferred if this book was a full-length book instead of a novella because honestly I just needed so much more!

Review: In Bed with Mr. Wrong by Katee Robert

Title: In Bed with Mr. Wrong

Author: Katee Robert

Synopsis:

The blind date from hell is about to get hotter…

Brianne Nave is never doing her friends a favor again. When they begged her to go on a blind date, she didn’t expect someone so perfectly gorgeous. She’s a mousy librarian—totally not in this man’s league. And judging by his odd reaction when she opens the door, he knows it, too.

Air Force Pararescuer Ryan Flannery avoids his hometown at all costs. He’s not thrilled about the date until he’s shocked silent by the prickly little librarian’s sweet curves and kissable lips…and her smart mouth. But then an argument leads to a kiss that spirals out of control. How can two people have so little chemistry outside the bedroom when they fit together so perfectly in it?

When their friends strand them in a cabin to “work things out,” Bri's not sure whether to kill him or put the industrial-sized box of condoms they find to use. Bottom line—Ryan’s career military and hates the tiny town she loves. He’ll leave, just like everyone else in her life. And if she’s foolish enough to give him her heart, he’ll take it with him.

***MY REVIEW***

5 out of 5 stars

Katee Robert is not a new to me author. Before finally picking up In Bed with Mr. Wrong, I had had already read several of her other Brazen releases and while I really liked her other books, this book is the first by Katee that I have absolutely loved. This book was just perfect for me in every way. From the military hero and the librarian heroine to their disastrous first blind date to getting stranded at a cabin by their meddling friends. It was all just absolutely perfect and I couldn't get enough of this wonderful romance that I basically ran home after getting out of work to finish reading it. Ryan and Bri were both really interesting and realistic characters and all the arguing and witty banter that the two exchanged throughout the book was absolutely hilarious and added just the right amount of drama to keep me invested in the characters without getting me to frustrated and made the end of the book even more satisfying.

Anywho, as I said already I LOVED this book. It was a really amazing fun and steamy romance and I highly recommend it!
