ARC Review: To Win Her Trust by Mackenzie Crowne

Title: To Win Her Trust

Author: Mackenzie Crowne

Can she trust this player with her heart?

Ever since experiencing a childhood trauma, reclusive artist CC Calhoun has suffered from panic attacks. But when a fateful kiss from handsome wide receiver, Kevin “Tuck” Tucker, is enough to stop one of those episodes cold, she wonders if guarding her heart has been the right choice. Will going on a test date with Tuck open her to trusting someone for the first time in years? Or will she wind up being just another notch in the football player’s bedpost?

Tuck has a reputation for charming women into bed, but after his kiss with CC, he’s left aching for more. When he proposes a second date, his attraction to the sexy blonde looks like the makings of true love—something he’s never quite believed in—until now. But when Tuck discovers CC’s childhood secrets, will the pro athlete be tough enough to stay by her side—or will he betray her hard-earned trust?

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4 out of 5 stars

To Win Her Trust, the second book in the Players series, was another solid romance by Mackenzie Crowne. After reading To Win Her Trust, I was excited to read Tuck's story and meet the girl who would get the playboy football player to settle down and Mac didn't disappoint with their story. I really enjoyed reading about Tuck and CC. The way their story played out from their initial meeting in the coffee shop to her proposition to their HEA was sweet and funny and kept me interested and invested in Tuck and CC as a couple.

Aside from the romance at the center of the story, I really liked the overall story and the situations that the characters were dealing with. Everything that was going on with CC's past and the strained relationship she was having with her parents, specifically her father was all very interesting and added a good amount of drama and seriousness to the story to balance out the adorable romance between Tuck and CC while still keeping it a sweet contemporary romance.

Overall, I really enjoyed this romance and am looking forward to reading the third installment in this series.
