COVER REVEAL: Beautiful Mistake by Vi Keeland

The always awesome Vi Keeland has a new book releasing July 17th, 2017!!!

I don't know about y'all, but this is my favorite Vi Keeland cover to date! And just look at the full paperback cover?
😍 😍 😍

Synopsis:

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.

He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out.

When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.

You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend--smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.

He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.

Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.

Only it turned out, the man I'd just told off wasn't the right guy.

Oops.  My mistake.

Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology.

I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right?

That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning.

Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant.

I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking.

Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West.

This was going to be interesting…

MY REVIEW

5 out of 5 stars

Worth the Wait is the first book I have read by Claudia Connor and it was absolutely amazing! I wholeheartedly enjoyed this book! It was one of those contemporary romances that really packs an emotional punch and I couldn't get enough it! I especially loved that the the narrative of the story goes back and forth between the present day and twenty plus years before when Nick and Mia first met. Getting to see the past and the present really made this romance so much more satisfying because Nick and Mia's past was never glossed over. We got to see it on the page and because of that we got to really understand their relationship and see first hand what happened to cause them to break up. And we also got to see how strong their relationship was which made their reunion believable and was something for me as a reader to root for in this story. There was a lot of back and forth between these Nick and Mia in this story because of their history and everything that went down, but in the end like the title of this book states it was definitely worth the wait and so perfectly done that I couldn't help but absolutely love this book.

REVIEW: Not in My Wildest Dreams by Jamie Hollins

Synopsis:

It really sucks to be in love with someone who sees you as nothing more than a friend. Darcy Owens knows this from personal experience. From the moment she met Sean McKenna as a shy ten-year-old, he’s owned her heart. So when he asks for her help with an important construction project, she can’t say no.

Building a boutique hotel on Boston’s waterfront is a career-making opportunity, and Sean needs Darcy’s interior design expertise. She’s incredibly talented, and there is no one he trusts more. He knows he can always count on his childhood friend, but doesn’t know why he’s thinking about her tight skirts and blue eyes instead of tight deadlines and blueprints.

When Sean and Darcy’s excitement about their work turns into an entirely different kind of excitement, it’s a sexy surprise. But they soon realize that building a new relationship is more challenging than building a new hotel, especially when life-long habits and old insecurities create cracks in the foundation.

MY REVIEW

5 out of 5 stars

Not in My Wildest Dreams is the first book I have read by Jamie Hollins and I got to say with just this book she has made me a fan for life! This book was really quite wonderful. I really loved everything about this book from the characters to the plot to the setting and everything else in between. How could I not love it when it's a book focused on two people falling in love with history. And anyone who follows my reviews knows just how much I love history between the hero and heroine.

Anywho, it's been a minute since I've actually read the book because it unfortunately slipped through the cracks in the overwhelming list of books I have to review, but this book was quite memorable and really left an impression on me with how great of a contemporary romance it really was. It's one of those books that I can see myself rereading again and again and I am going to just that in order to get myself ready for book three in this series, which if it's only half as good as this book will still be amazing. Needless to say, I highly recommend this book!

MY REVIEW

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4 out of 5 stars

How to Lose a Highlander was an enjoyable historical romance! I was originally expecting the book to be more serious, but in reality it was really sweet and lighthearted and I really enjoyed that about this book. Also, I don't know why I love historical romances with forced and arranged marriages so much, but I do and this book was a really great example of the trope. I loved the way that the author set up everything with how Sorcha and Malcolm met before the king made his decision and kissed without knowing who the other was. Having that happen really laid the groundwork for me to become invested in their relationship and root for them from the very start even when they were scheming about how to get out of the marriage. And talking about their scheming it really made for some humorous situations that I really enjoyed, but of course the highlight for me was the way in which these two moved passed the scheming and the hating each other and actually fell in love. Their love story was really wonderful and I honestly couldn't get enough of it! All in all this was really good start to this series and I highly recommend it!!

MY REVIEW

4 out of 5 stars

Brazilian Capture was another great romance from Carmen Falcone, which is really no surprise because she has never let me down before. I loved this book a lot. The characters and plot were intriguing and had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The one thing I would say though and it is why I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 is that everything happened way to fast and Erika's father didn't get a punishment that was satisfying enough for me. I was expecting some big climax in this book, but it just never happened. But other than that, everything else that happened in this book was great. I loved the relationship between Emanuel and Erika and the way it changed over the course of the book. Their love story really made this book for me and the way that it was all wrapped up in the end was satisfying and made me really happy. Overall, I really enjoyed this book! It was an exciting romance and I highly recommend it!

REVIEW: Nanny with Benefits by London Hale

Synopsis:

She's completely off limits
In my eyes—and those of every woman on Temperance Falls—Doctor Josh Hutton is the ultimate catch: single dad, handsome surgeon, and lonely widower all rolled into one. He’s also my boss. I shouldn’t want to take our relationship from professional to personal, but I ache thinking about even one night in his bed.

His control is slipping
I know better than to lust after Bailey, but that doesn’t stop me from doing it. She’s my employee, the person who cares for my son when I can’t, which only makes the dirty thoughts I have about her even more inappropriate. But she’s also a beautiful, sexy woman living under my roof, and that temptation is hard to resist. A door left ajar and a breathy moan is all it takes. One night of pushed boundaries, and all my rules go out the window.

MY REVIEW

5 out of 5 stars

After finishing reading The DILF and meeting Josh, I couldn't help but read Nanny with Benefits immediately and I was right to not put off reading this book because it was another amazing addition to the Temperance Falls series! Having the story focus around a hot single dad falling for his son's young nanny really worked for me! The whole falling for the nanny is not my favorite trope in romance books, but London Hale really had me reevaluating my opinion of them with this book because it was done so perfectly. Seriously, the ladies behind London Hale outdid themselves with this book. I enjoyed reading about Josh and Bailey so much! The whole boss and employee aspect of their relationship made things more intense and hotter than it would have been if this was just another age-gap romance. And of course I loved every word of this book. I found myself unable to put this book down and spent the entirety of my break from work and commute to and from work reading as much of the book as I could because it was just so good! Overall, this book like the previous two installments was the perfect short and steamy read and I can't wait to read the steamy romances we have to look forward to in the future from London Hale!

REVIEW: The DILF by London Hale

Makes me aware that he’s so much more than what I thought. He isn’t just a dad—he’s a DILF. One I desperately want warming my sheets.

He can’t stop fantasizing about her
I never should have looked at Genesis the way I do, never should have seen her as more than just my daughter’s best friend. I’m too old for her, too wrong. Dating the fiery redhead with the killer curves could end my career and destroy my relationship with my daughter, but I can’t resist her siren call. One night, and I’m a man obsessed. One night, and I’ll do everything in my power to keep her.

MY REVIEW

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 stars

The DILF, the second book in London Hale's Temperance Falls series was an even hotter romance than Daddy's Best Friend. I didn't even know that was possible, but somehow these two collaborating authors pulled it off and it was EVERYTHING! I really loved that this book paired up Genesis with her best friend's father. In the previous book Brandon was against his daughter hooking up with his best friend because of the age difference, so to have him basically do the same exact thing with Genesis was so satisfying. But as much as I loved that irony, the highlight for me in this book was just how perfect Brandon and Genesis were for each other. At the beginning of the book Brandon was a total workaholic dad who really did not know how to relax and Genesis really got him to revaluate his priorities not only for her benefit, but for his as well because the situation he was dealing with at work was kind of miserable and being with Gen made him make changes for the better. Overall, I loved this romance! It was perfect short and steamy romance and I honestly can't recommend this book enough!

MY REVIEW

5 out of 5 stars

It's been a minute since I've picked up a Diane Alberts book and therefore this book felt like a real treat. Romancing the Bachelor really was a fantastic romance. I loved everything about this book especially the two main characters. Eric was really wonderful. I really loved his persistence in this book. It had the potential to look a little bit creepy, but his personality made him look a lot more charming and endearing. And Shelby was a great heroine in every way. I loved that she was driven and was determined to accomplish her goal of getting out of the city. The romance was also really wonderful. I liked how things went from Shelby not liking Eric to them being sort of friends to being friends with benefits to finally falling in love. The love story was so much fun and so satisfying and I couldn't get enough of these two. Overall, I enjoyed this book so much and I highly recommend it!

MY REVIEW

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 stars

The Magnate's Marriage Merger was a great contemporary romance. I loved everything about this book especially the two principal characters! Ian and Lydia were both characters that intrigued me and as a result they had my full attention from start to finish. I also really loved that this book was essentially a second chance romance. Second chance romances are of course one of my favorite tropes because history between the hero and heroine always makes for an extremely satisfying read and this book is definitely one of my top favorite examples of the trope. On top of being a second chance romance, I loved that this book was also a marriage of convenience story. I love that trope even more and the combination of the two was one of the major reasons I loved this book so much. And of course I really loved all the family drama present in this book. All these factors together made sure that there was never a dull moment in this book and it made for an exceptional romance that I couldn't get enough of. Overall, this book was amazing and I highly recommend it!!!

MY REVIEW

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4 out of 5 stars

So I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars, but really this book was more of a 3.5 star read for me. I say this because while I enjoyed reading more about Gabe and Lauren, this book just wasn't as exciting as the first book. The storyline was interesting and all, but I just really wanted more crazy stuff to happen instead it was more of the same of what we got in the first book with all the back and forth between Lauren and Li Na Zhao with Gabe doing everything in his power to prevent Lauren from getting herself kidnapped or worse killed. Also, I found that the romance was kind of pushed to the side in this book. I understand that Lauren and Gabe were dealing with some life or death situations, but I still feel like their romance should have had more of a focus than it did. Those things aside there were still a lot I enjoyed about this book. The biggest highlight for me was of course meeting Gabriel's brothers and I really hope they become more important in future books because they really intrigued me. And of course I enjoyed the way this book ended. I really liked the way the author left things with Lauren and Gabe. After everything these two go through in the book it was nice to see that they could could still have a normal and happy relationship. All in all, I enjoyed this book and while I did have some issues with it, I'm still extremely eager to see what Leigh James has in store for these characters next!

MY REVIEW

4 out of 5 stars

Lauren, the first Silicon Valley Billionaires book, was a pretty good suspenseful romance! Lauren was a wonderful heroine. She could be a bit stubborn and dense at times, but she was still a very powerful and independent women and I admired her character a lot. And Gabe was a total alpha male, which I loved a lot. He came on a bit strong at times and was overprotective, but it never got to the point that he was unlikable. Leigh James balanced his personality really well and I found him to the be perfect love interest for Lauren because they were the only people who could really take each other on. The plot of this book was just as great as the characters. The situation that Lauren found herself in was quite thrilling and exciting and it wasn't obvious how things were going to turn out, so I really enjoyed going along for the ride with Lauren and Gabe as they figured stuff out. All in all, this was a nice read. It's only the first book I have read by Leigh James, but I'm eager to read more from her in the future.

MY REVIEW

5 out of 5 stars

One Little Kiss was such a fun romance! I hadn't read the previous books in this series, but that didn't matter much because the book stands alone extremely well, so I was able to enjoy this book in it's entirety. And what I enjoyed the most was the set-up for the romance in this book! The whole being "stranded" at Jake's bungalow during a storm was so much fun to read about. But at the same time I liked that the entirety of the book did not take place at the island like I was originally expecting it to. I liked that the setting moved to New York and that that is where the relationship between Jake and Kate really progressed. I really loved the way that everything between these two progressed once they were spending time together in the city especially with the way that Jake opened up to Kate even if he was just trying to keep it "casual" between him and Kate. And talking about his attempt at keeping things casual with Kate I really didn't like that he wasn't upfront with Kate about his new book. I found it to be kind of a very shady move and he really should have came clean with her sooner. And also talking about shady moves, while I enjoyed the interference and matchmaking skills of Jake's sister in this book, she was a little too aggressive in my opinion. Jane really walked the line between getting these two together and permanently ruining their relationship with her manipulations. It made for some interesting reading, but still. Anywho, overall I really loved this book. It was a sweet and sexy romantic comedy and I can't wait til I have the time to go back and read the first two books this series!!

MY REVIEW

5 out of 5 stars

Betting the Bad Boy, the third book in the Behind the Bar series, was another exceptional romance by Stefanie London. I loved this humorous and sweet romance so much! After getting glimpses of Noah in the previous two books it was really satisfying to finally read about him. I ended up loving him even more than I already did. And Paige really was the perfect heroine for Noah. I really loved the whole opposites attract thing that the author had going on in this book. It was so much fun to watch a perfectionist like Paige fall in love someone as carefree as Noah. It really made this story entertaining with all the back and forth between these two as Paige tried to resist Noah. And I got to say that I'm kind of impressed with how long Paige resisted Noah in this book. The girl was quite stubborn and stood her ground which was quite fun for me to read about, especially since her stubbornness made the moment when she finally gave in all the more satisfying. Anywho, overall, this book was a great romantic comedy. This is exactly the type of book I've come to expect from Stefanie London and books like these are why she is will forever be one of my favorite authors!

MY REVIEW

5 out of 5 stars

Pretend It's Love, the second book in the Behind the Bar series, was even better than the first book in the series. I thought this mostly due to the fact that the main couple in this book, Paul and Libby, were EVERYTHING! I really loved them so much! Libby was such a fun character and I loved how determined she was to make her small business successful. And Paul was one of those characters you just couldn't help but love. In the previous book, he seemed like the typical playboy, but there's actually a lot more to him than that. He was actually quite a sweet and caring person and didn't deserve all the judgement directed his way by his extended family.

And talking about judgmental family, Libby's father really was on my shit list the entirety of the book. But while I hated him, I really liked the fact that he was a somewhat important part of the book, because through her interactions with him, we got to see just how strong and determined Libby was when it came to her wants for her future. She stood her ground against her father and that impressed me. But not all the family in this book were horrible. Paul's immediate family were all quite wonderful and I especially loved all of the interactions included in this book between Paul and his mother.

While I loved all the family drama in this book, the highlight for me in this book was of course the romance! Fake relationships are always a fun set-up for a romance and Stefanie London executed the trope to perfection. Everything was done so wonderfully and I was so invested in Paul and Libby and their fun love story that it was painful for me to finish this book because I didn't want it to end.

All-in-all, I love, love, loved this book! It was another A+ read from Stefanie London and books like these are why Stefanie London is one of my all-time favorite authors!

MY REVIEW

5 out of 5 stars

The Rules According to Gracie, the first book in the Behind the Bar series, was a great romantic comedy read. The book as a whole was short, but was still quite satisfying. I really loved Gracie. Her rules and the way she went about relationships made me want to slam my head against the wall, but she was still a very likable character that as a reader I was able to get behind. And Des was the perfect type of love interest for Gracie. He was everything she though she didn't want, but exactly what she needed to be happy. I loved reading about their interactions both romantic and otherwise. These two were great together in every way and I couldn't get enough of this love story. Needless to say, I highly recommend this book!
