#5 ~ Seth, George Clooney's character from the movie From Dusk Til Dawn. He’s a bank robber who takes a family of three hostage before leading them, unbeknownst to him, to a den of vampires in Mexico. At the end, the body count is high, but Seth emerges as hero in a move that surprises him as much as the audience watching.

#4 ~ Jax Teller from the television series, Sons of Anarchy. The ultimate bad boy anti-hero, am I right? Yet something about his sinister actions is so tempting. Charlie Hunnam’s gorgeous face helps.

#3 ~ Tate Jackson from Kristen Ashley’s novel Sweet Dreams. I’ve never in my life read a romance hero who insulted the heroine quite the way Tate did Lauren. (She overheard him calling her fat! Gasp!) In a brilliant turn of events, Tate completely falls for Lauren during the course of the book, eating all of his early assumptions and falling helplessly in love with her. Watching him step seamlessly into the hero role was incredible.

#2 ~ Negan from the television series, The Walking Dead. I know, I know… he’s not a hero. He’s the worst of the worst, but the way Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays the baddest of them all makes a tiny, evil part of me root for him against my better judgment.

#1 ~ Beast, from Walt Disney’s animated cartoon, Beauty and the Beast. Not only is our hero literally a beast, but he also has a heart of solid gold. Like another hero I know, Eli Crane, Beast simply needs a strong heroine who will both stand up to him—and stand up for him.

5 out of 5 stars

While I'm reviewing this book now, I actually read it almost two months ago. And while it has been almost two months since I've read this book, I can still remember everything that happened in this book like if I read it yesterday. That's how much I loved this book! The Bastard Billionaire was the book I was most excited for in this series and it did not disappoint me in any way. Eli and Isabella/Sable's love story was everything I was expecting it to be and so much more! Anyone who knows me knows that nothing get me more excited than a scarred and tormented "beastly" hero and that is exactly what Eli Crane was and I fell for his character hard. As for Isabella. She was a headstrong and independent woman and I love that she was the women that got paired with Eli because I found her to be the right amount of both sweet and tough to deal with Eli's BS. The romance in this book was absolutely wonderful. It was sweet and intense and made me feel all the things as I was reading which was a bit overwhelming but in the best way. Overall, I LOVED this book! Not only is it the best in this series but it is my favorite Jessica Lemmon book to date. I highly recommend it!

Release Day Blitz: If the Duke Demands by Anna Harrington (+ Review)

Miranda Hodgkins has only ever wanted one thing: to marry Robert Carlisle. And she simply can't wait a moment longer. During the Carlisle family masquerade ball, Miranda boldly sneaks into his bedchamber with seduction on her mind. Soon she's swept into rock-hard arms for the most breathtaking kiss of her life. But when the masks come off, she's horrified to find herself face-to-face with Sebastian, the Duke of Trent-Robert's formidable older brother.

Shocked to find Miranda in his bed, Sebastian quickly offers her a deal to avoid scandal: He'll help her win his brother's heart if she'll find him the perfect wife. But what begins as a simple negotiation soon spirals out of control. For the longer this reformed rake tries to make a match for Miranda, the more he wants to keep her all to himself.

Purchase If The Duke Demands:

Her eyes narrowed as she took in that bit of dubious advice and contemplated what he asked of her, with a curious look of deep study and concentration. For a moment, her expression was damnably disconcerting as she tried to think up a compliment to give him, as if she had never truly noticed him before as a man. Which inexplicably irked him to no end. How could she have not noticed him before as someone other than the Duke of Trent, other than just a friend?

“What you’re asking of me is impossible.” She shook her head with a soft sigh of defeat. “Every man in this room knows the rank you hold, the power and influence you’re gaining in Parliament. As for the ladies, you should have seen the way they all watched you when you crossed the room to ask me to dance.” She shrugged. “What could I possibly add to what everyone has already told you about how wonderful you are?”

He stared at her, momentarily stunned speechless. What she’d just said was exactly the kind of compliment a man wanted to hear from a beautiful woman . . .

And he didn’t believe a word of it. When he saw her lips twitch with amusement, his eyes narrowed.
“You are incorrigible.”

She laughed happily. “Perhaps.” Her eyes shined, and for a brief moment, she shifted closer, somehow rising up on tiptoes as she danced to bring her mouth close to his ear. “But it is all true, you know.”

Then she pulled back into her original position and looked at him shyly through lowered lashes even as the tip of her tongue darted out to wet her lips. The paradoxical effect of innocent seduction was mesmerizing, and for a moment, he forgot they were dancing in the middle of a crowded ballroom. For a moment, there was only Miranda. And the pull of her was undeniable.

5 out of 5 stars

I have loved every book by Anna Harrington to date, but If the Duke Demands, the first book in her Capturing the Carlisles series, is by far my favorite. This book was an absolutely flawless historical romance read. I read the book in a matter of hours because I absolutely could not put it down. Everything about Sebastian and Miranda's love story was absolutely PERFECT!

First off, Sebastian ended up being my favorite Carlisle brother. I was so sure that I was gonna love Quinton the most, but the way that Anna brought Sebastian to life in this novel made him not only my favorite Carlisle brother, but my all-time favorite hero by this author. He was one of those tormented heroes that is only tormented because he keeps jumping to conclusions and is too stubborn to talk things out with the characters around him and for some reason stubborn heroes like that always manage to worm their way into my heart.

As for Miranda she was an interesting heroine. Her whole crush on Robert never really made any sense to me, but I commend her for the lengths she was willing to go to for him to notice her especially since the awkward and hilarious situation led to Sebastian being the one that noticed her.

As for the romance in this novel, I really enjoyed it. I felt like everything progressed at a really steady pace that wasn't too fast nor too slow but still allowed me as a reader to really become invested in these characters' love story. By the end I 100% believed these two were in love which is always my end goal when reading any romance, so as a result I found this book to be a very satisfying read.

Aside from the romance and the hero and heroine, I also really enjoyed reading about the other characters in this book at least what we get to see of them. It was really nice to get glimpses of the couples from the previous books all happy and I also enjoyed learning more about Robert and Quinton in preparation for the future books in this series.

Overall, I loved this book so much! It truly was Anna Harrington best book so far and I'm excited to see how she is going to outdo herself next. And of course if you haven't picked up a book by this author yet, I highly recommend you do so ASAP!!!

Release Day Launch: The Hot One by Lauren Blakely (Review + Excerpt)

From #1 NYT Bestselling author Lauren Blakely, comes a hot new standalone second chance romance…

Want a slow burn, sexy-as-sin second chance romance filled with wit, humor and so much heart? Dive in, and get ready to swoon and fan yourself from the heat!

A sexy new standalone romance from #1 New York Times Bestselling Author Lauren Blakely…

Ever notice that sometimes a guy will do something really stupid, like let the love of his life slip through his fingers?

Yeah. I'm that guy. But the instant I run into her again I’ve got one goal and one goal only—a second chance. The plan? Go big or go home.

Fine, at first glance, stripping naked at my ex-girlfriend's place of work might not seem like the brightest way to win her heart again. But trust me on this count—she always liked me best without any clothes on. And sometimes you've got to play to your strengths when you're fighting an uphill battle. As a lawyer, I know how to fight, and I'm prepared to fight hard for her. Because sometimes you need a second chance at first love.

He's the one who got away . . .

The nerve of Tyler Nichols to reappear like that at my job, showing off his rock-hard body that drove me wild far too many nights. That man with his knowing grin and mischievous eyes is nothing but a cocky jerk to saunter back into my life. Except, what if he's not . . .? I've tried like hell to forget him, but maybe I'm cursed to remember the guy I fell madly in love with eight years ago. Lord knows I’m not over him, so what's the harm in giving him a week to prove he's changed in the ways that matter?

After all, how do you resist the hot one . . .?

Purchase The Hot One:

She turns her head.

And waves.

And smiles.

That smile makes me feel like I can do this. Like I can win her heart again. Mine pounds faster as I near her, and it’s not just because I happen to think she’s the most stunning woman I’ve ever seen, but because of who she is.

I arrive at her side, and she straightens. “Hey.”

There’s that awkwardness again, and I want no part of it today. Like the bungee jumper I am, I lean in and dust a quick kiss on her lips. At first, she freezes. That won’t fucking do at all. My tongue darts out, flicking her top lip. A soft breath escapes her, and she gives in. Her sweet lips linger on mine, sending a charge down my spine. My brain leapfrogs ahead, and I picture scooping her up in my arms, carrying her to a quiet little patch of trees, and kissing her till she begs me to take her home.

I want that badly—I want her to beg for it because she’s at her happiest when she’s overcome—but I suspect it’s too soon for her.

Not to mention, screwing in Central Park usually results in a public citation. Public fornicators are never as clandestine as they think they are.

I nibble lightly on her bottom lip for a few seconds, drawing out a throaty murmur from her. Then I somehow find the will to separate.

She blinks. Several times. She sways the slightest bit, like her feet barely touch the ground. Good. I want her to be affected.

She furrows her brow. “I’m sorry, but do we kiss now when we see each other in the park?”

“Evidently we do.”

“Weird. Because I didn’t get that memo.”

I rock on my heels. “Want me to take it back?”

“The kiss or the memo?”

“The memo,” I say matter-of-factly, like this is all so obvious. “You can’t take a kiss back.”

“You sure on that, Nichols?”

“I can try to take back the kiss. Want me to, sweet girl?” I use the term of endearment I once called her. She doesn’t blanch, and that’s a damn good sign.

She smirks. “Be my guest.”

I kiss her once more, like I’m reversing the lip lock, doing it all in rewind, pulling away ever so slowly, ever so softly, leaving her dazed once more.

If she can drive me this crazy, make me this hard, send the temperature in my blood to beyond incendiary, the least I can do is return the favor.

Judging from her reaction, I’m doing it right.

I gesture from her to me. “Like that. I think that’s how you take back a kiss.”

Chuckling, she nods to the running path. “Ready for me to kick your ass?”

Every competitive bone in my body snaps to attention. “We’ll see about that,” I say, then I smack her pink nylon covered behind.

Her eyes widen, saying oh-no-you-didn’t.

But there’s a twinkle in those baby browns that says the lady might like spanking.

That’s new, and it’s most interesting.

I pencil in a new item on my mental to-do list. Find out how much she likes spanking. I never spanked her in college—just wasn’t part of the repertoire. But judging from her response now, I’m more determined than ever to find out everything she likes in and out of bed.

5 out of 5 stars

The Hot One was such a fun romantic comedy read! I loved this story so much! I had never read a Lauren Blakely book before but she has been on TBR for a while and I got to say based on how amazing The Hot One was all her other books have moved up on my list. Seriously, people, this book was an absolutely flawless second chance romance. The story had just the right blend of sweet and sexy. Serious and humorous. I absolutely could not get enough of the story, especially the characters. Tyler and Delaney were EVERYTHING. And all the other characters were so much fun as well. And I liked that many of them are the main characters of previous books by this author or will be getting their story soon because I absolutely love connected books and characters and knowing that has made me even more excited to read more books by this author.

But getting back to the romance, the love story in this book was so well done. I really loved the way that the author set everything up and I especially loved he way that Tyler went about winning Delaney over after the way that he broke her heart in the past. Although, I got to say learning the reason he broke up with her in the first place made me cheer on Delaney as she made him jump through hoops because as much as I rooted for these two as a couple, Tyler had some serious groveling to do before I found tis book satisfying. But in the end that is exactly what this book was. It was a more than satisfying contemporary romance novel. I enjoyed it so much and I highly recommend it!

Forbidden Virgin is by far my favorite book by Carmen Falcone! This book was EVERYTHING I needed and wanted it to be and so much more! I loved Graham and Kate's love story so much! I can read really explicit books without incident, but this book made me feel especially naughty when reading because of the circumstances and honestly that is what made me love this book all the more. I also really loved that while the romance was all types of steamy that it was also very sweet. These two made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside and I was absolutely giddy the entire time that I was reading. And all the awesomeness that was this book was topped off by one extremely satisfying ending and that is why this is my favorite Carmen Falcone book! I highly recommend it to everyone and I can't wait for the other books in this series!!!

ARC Review: Fake Engagement Real Temptation by Joya Ryan

Title: Fake Engagement Real Temptation

Author: Joya Ryan

Every girl deserves her fantasy...

Oh. My. God. Carrie Morgan can’t escape her cheating ex fiancĂ©. She goes on her Hawaiian honeymoon fantasy vacation to prove she’s over him—but he’s there with his mistress in tow. Good thing Carrie’s annoyingly over-protective friend Blake came with her. How’s she going to prove to her ex she’s over him? Easy. One… Two… Three… She grabs Blake and kisses him.

Blake Harris isn’t about to let anyone take advantage of his heartbroken friend Carrie. And that includes himself, even if she’s sexy as sin in that bikini. Then she kisses him—and he’s on fire. Damage done, but he can back off. Except he sees that broken look in Carrie’s eyes. No. Hell no. New plan. He intends to show her ex just what he’s thrown away.

The kisses? For show. The heat? Part of the performance. The private practice sessions? Uh-oh. Those are starting to feel a bit too real…

Fake Engagement Real Temptation was a another great Joya Ryan book. Books like this are why I always drop everything I'm doing every time I get my hands on one of her books. In true Joya Ryan fashion this book was an extremely satisfying sexy read. I loved everything about this book from the characters to the setting to the pretend relationship trope. Joya Ryan created a romance between these two that was sweet and heartfelt with just the right amount of steaminess to keep me happy without being too over the top. And all-in-all it was just such a fun read from beginning to end. I 100% enjoyed it and highly recommend this book!

ARC Review: His Best Mistake by Diane Alberts

Title: His Best Mistake

Author: Diane Alberts

One night with a stranger…

Security expert Mark Matthews has loved, and lost, and has no intention of ever loving again—especially not a woman who thrives on her life being in danger. Now, hot, meaningless sex with strangers he had no intention of ever seeing again? That's a whole other story. And it's all life as a single father allows him to enjoy. But when he meets a woman who refuses to tell him her real name, the game is on, because she's everything he swore to stay away from. Daisy O'Rourke has bad idea written all over her, but he's in too deep to walk away now…

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 stars

His Best Mistake was another outstanding addition to Diane Alberts' Shillings Agency series. The emotional and sexy romance was everything I've come to expect from this author and I loved it from beginning to end.

I really enjoyed reading about the couple in this book. Gordon and Isabelle from Seducing the Princess are still my favorite couple by this author, but Mark and Daisy are a very close second favorite for me. Daisy was a great headstrong and independent heroine and I loved that she didn't compromise the things that she wanted for Mark. As for Mark, he was another example of the type of hero that I can never get enough of in the romances I read. But as much as I loved Mark, his over-protectiveness and his refusal to 100% accept what Daisy did for a living drove me crazy because it's not like his job was 100% safe either, but yeah other than that he really was a wonderful character.

The romance in this book was also really on point. Love stories that always begin with one-night stands between strangers who expect to never see each other again are always so much fun to read and His Best Mistake was no exception. This one was especially fun because their friends were already trying to hook them up without them being aware and that kind of made everything that happened between them feel like fate, which added to how satisfied I felt with the romance by the end of the story. And I was very satisfied with how this romance turned out.

Overall, I absolutely loved this book! It was the first book I have read by this author in a while and it did not disappoint. In fact, it renewed my love for this author's writing and now I'm itching to reread the previous books in this series and to finally get around to reading her other books. And if it wasn't obvious by my review, yes, I do highly recommend this book!
