And if that blurb doesn't have you running to pre-order this book here's a sexy little teaser:

“I’m trying to be less impulsive,” she confessed.

He narrowed his eyes. “What does that mean?”

“It means I’m trying very hard not to let my emotions get the best of me, especially when it comes to guys. Jumping into bed with you for a quickie isn’t a good idea right now.”

His expression darkened. “Oh, my sweet Alexa. I’m not looking for a onetime hookup. I’ve waited too damned long for you. One time won’t nearly be enough.”

Now that you have seen the cover and read the blurb are you as excited to read this book as I am?

Almost a Bride was a wonderful follow-up to Burning Moon. Jo Watson really knows how to write a destination romance and Annie and Chris's story was pretty much what I expected and that made me really happy. Everything from the way the book started to the events that lead to Annie going on vacation by herself and meeting Chris was perfect. I loved the way that the author developed this story. Some of the things that happen were a little cringe-worthy through Annie eyes because seriously this girl went through a lot, but at the same time it was so hilariously entertaining that I couldn't stop reading. And while Chris and Annie romance was "fake" for the majority of the book, I loved the way that the author made it real because it made the moments when both Annie and Chris realize they are really in love all the more emotionally satisfying.

However, as much as I loved this book and the crazy shit that happens from beginning to end, there were two thing I was not the biggest fan of. First, I didn't like that Annie got mad at Chris about his script. I'm not going to go to into it because of spoilers, but I found her a bit childish at that point and was totally on Chris's side. And secondly, I felt like Annie did not get sufficient enough revenge against Trevv and Tess. It might be because I am an extremely petty person, but I feel like they should have suffered more. Lol.

But overall I loved this book. Jo Watson has quickly become a favorite author of mine and I'm more excited for more books by her!

Blog Tour: The List by Tawna Fenske (Review + Giveaway)

As the millionaire owner of a chain of computer shops, Simon Traxel isn’t normally hands-on with mundane repairs. But when a fretful brunette shows up with her fried laptop and killer green eyes, he makes an exception. And as it turns out, she needs more hands-on help than Simon imagined.

Brainy soil scientist Cassie Michaels has spent her whole life feeling like a grungy tree trunk beside her delicate flower sisters. To make herself more interesting, Cassie invented stories about her wild sex life—stories she’s expected to retell in vivid detail at a bachelorette party. Cassie’s attempt to catalog her biggest whoppers goes awry when she spills wine on her laptop and lands in Simon’s shop with her sexy list frozen on the screen.

But Simon’s interest is piqued, and the two strike a deal to make Cassie’s make-believe sexploits a reality. From steamy public romps gone hilariously awry, to sexy antics with kitchen utensils, their quest to conquer The List is equal parts scorching hot and adorably awkward.

As they near the end of The List though, Cassie and Simon second guess their pledge to shake hands and say goodbye when they cross off the last item. But will Simon’s big secret make that the one fantasy that can never come true?

The List was another great contemporary romance by Tawna Fenske. I haven't read much from this author yet, but The List is definitely my favorite book by her so far and is going to be a tough one to outdo. This book was pretty much perfect in my opinion.

First off, I just really loved the idea of The List. I swear, making up wild sex stories is something I would totally do for the hell of it and because of that I found the fact that the heroine did this absolutely hilarious. And going off of that, it was even more entertaining to be along for the ride as she attempted to actually do everything on the list. The way that the author had everything play out was so much fun and of course crazy steamy. And I loved it so much!

Along with a fun and sexy plot, this book had some really great characters. Cassie was a heroine who was really easy to relate to. So was so normal and likable and I loved reading about her. Simon was also a really likable character. He wasn't perfect though and I did find myself getting frustrated with him at times especially when it came to how long he kept the fact that he was wealthy from Cassie. I understand why he did it at first, but he hid it for way too long in my opinion.

Despite the fact that I felt that I was kind of annoyed by how long Simon lied to Cassie, that did not affect my love of the love story in this book. Cassie and Simon's romance was everything I needed it to be and so much more and by the end the author left me a puddle of happiness.

Overall, as I said already this book is as of right now my favorite Tawna Fenske book. It was a very satisfying romantic comedy read and now I'm even more excited to read more books by this author.

The Stubborn Billionaire was a weird read for me in that for the first 50% of the book I was pretty sure that this book was going to be a 2 or 3 star read for me because I wasn't particularly impressed by what was going on in the beginning the book. I'm all for a wanting revenge to falling in love book, but in the case of the first half of this book, I just couldn't stand the hero of this book and that in turn had me really forcing myself to keep turning the pages instead of DNF-ing this book. Thankfully, the second half of this book was great and all-in-all I really liked it as a whole.

While the hero was pretty despicable at the begging in my opinion at the end he ended up winning me over which really says something about this author's writing skill because by the end of the book I was just as in love with James as Sienna was. As for Sienna, from beginning to end I really liked her character. She was fairly innocent in how trusting she was, but at the same time she was really stubborn and independent and her character was my favorite aspect of the book.

Moving on to the romance in this book, while I did dislike the first half of this book, now that I have finished it I am actually kind of happy that I disliked the beginning because it made the romance in this book all the more satisfying. As a reader, I was in the same boat as Sienna in the beginning with her hatred of James and as a result it made watching James realizing that he was an idiot and ass and that he truly loved Sienna all the more thrilling and also allowed me to really understand just how Sienna could fall in love with him because the bastard also won me over in the end. Plus, his horrible actions made it possible for the the scene at the ending where James has to "grovel" to get Sienna to forgive him and that was one of my favorite scenes in the entire book.

Overall, despite my rough start with this book, I really enjoyed this contemporary romance. I highly recommend it to people who like the enemies to lovers trope and now I'm really looking forward to reading some more books by this author.

Interview with Teri Anne Stanley:

Describe yourself in five words or less.
Ahhh….creative, funny, kind, distractible, SQUIRREL!

Name one thing you won’t leave home without.
Other than my phone, right? Because no one leaves home without their phone. I’d have to say my planner. I started doing this Bullet Journal thing (google it, it’s cool!) last year and it’s really changed the way I stay on top of things. It’s got my calendar, my to-do list, and all the notes for all the things that usually clutter my purse and my brain. I finally invested in a nice gridded Moleskine hard back, and I love it!

Name three things on your desk right now.
An Ink Joy gel pen, a Fisher Scientific desk planner, and an Angry Mama Microwave cleaner (my day job boss gave me that as a ten-year work anniversary gift. Part of my job is herding college students through capstone research projects.)

What are some books that you enjoyed recently?
I just finished Tiffany Reisz’s Her Halloween Treat, which is a Harlequin Blaze. Totally fun. And I’m on third book of Juliana Stone’s Bad Boys of Crystal Lake series, which is sexy, and heart wrenching, and all around entertaining.
I think I’ll read Jessica Lemmon’s Bad Boy Billionaire stories next. Her books are so funny and hot and emotional—that’s going to be my reward for finishing my next manuscript. All three books in a row.

What do you like to do when you aren't writing?
I’m compulsively crafty. My office is half romance novels and author paraphernalia, and half auxiliary storage for Michaels Crafts. I especially love quilt making, knitting, and crochet, but I’ve tried everything. If you want to try a project, stop by. I’ve probably got the supplies. I can’t promise I can find them, but I bet I’ve got ‘em!

What types of scenes are your most favorite to write?
I like the funny ones. The sexy ones and emotional ones are great, but I’m always second guessing myself about them. Humor comes easy to me, which is fortunate, I think. Life is too hard not to be able to laugh about it as much as possible!

Is there anything that you would like to say to your readers and fans?
Thanks for reading! There’s nothing cooler than meeting someone who has read and loved one of my books. I hope you have fun meeting Brandon and Lesa. Brandon is a really good guy, but he works too hard. Lesa brings him some desperately needed light and laughter and sexy times while he tries to show her what home really means.

4 out of 5 stars

A Shot with You was another fun contemporary romance by Teri Anne Stanley. The story was everything I expect from an Entangled Lovestruck novel with its fun characters and adorable humorous, but still heartfelt romance. But as much as I loved this romance there were a couple of issues I had with the book causing me to give it 4 stars instead of 5. The main one being that Lesa wasn't as realistic a depiction of a Latina as I wanted her to be. It's not that it was a bad interpretation it's just that as a Latina myself I have really high expectations when it comes to Latino characters in romance novels. Other than that this book was great. The romance was especially on point. Nothing between Lesa and Brandon felt forced and the author created some really great chemistry between the two of them. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was a cute contemporary romance and books like this are why I always get excited for books from this author!

5 out of 5 stars

Dear Jane was such a great humorous contemporary romance! I loved everything about this book and I devoured it in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down. Seriously, this book was so good! I couldn't get enough of the love story that this author created in this book between Jane and Eric for many reasons.

First off, I just loved Jane. The fact that she never gets past the first date with anyone was absolutely hilarious, but the dating disasters just made her character so much more likable in my opinion because I feel like we can all relate to her misfortune because everyone has had a bad first date at one point or another in their life.

Secondly, Eric truly was a wonderful hero. I absolutely loved that while reluctant at first that he still tried to help out Jane and that he was always there for her at the end of the night when her dates ended horribly. The friendship that they were able to form during those moment made the romance that blossomed between them in the end all the more wonderful and satisfying.

And talking about the romance, that was the third and most important reason that I couldn't get enough of this book. The way that Jane and Eric go from co-workers who barely interact with each other to unlikely friends to lovers was perfect. Marissa Clarke absolutely nailed the romance in this book and the ending was absolutely so satisfying and left me with hearts in my eyes with how wonderful it was.

Overall, this book was an absolute win for me. It was pretty much a perfect contemporary romance book and I highly recommend it!

5 out of 5 stars

Ready Set Rogue was an amazing historical romance. The story had everything I could ever want in a historical romance with great characters, a swoon-worthy love story and even a good mystery to unfold.

In regards to the characters, all the major players were wonderful. Ivy with her love of Classics and her unconforming attitude was exactly the type of heroine that I love in my historical romances. As for Quill, he was enough of a brooding hero for me to absolutely adore him. But as much as I loved the main couple of this book, the secondary characters were the highlight for me. They all really made this book a spectacular experience for me especially Daphne.

Moving on to the romance, the love story in this book was the best. Romances that begin with misunderstandings or with the two people hating each other are always a lot of fun and this book had both and it was all so well done. That paired with the fast pace at which the relationship between Ivy and Quill develops made this romance extremely entertaining and satisfying.

And let's not forget about the murder mystery in this book. The way that everything is built up throughout the story as Ivy and Quill discover his aunt's secrets was all very thrilling and I especially loved  that the killer wasn't obvious. I suspected everybody at one point or another in the story, but I wasn't able to guess the real culprit until the very last minute right before they were revealed to the characters, so I applaud the author for that.

So, yeah, if it wasn't obvious from my gushing in this review, I highly recommend this book! Ready Set Rogue is only the first book that I have read by Manda Collins, but because of how much I loved it and the fact that even days later I still can't stop talking about it, this lovely author is now on my auto-buy author list and I will be spending my time waiting for Daphne's book trying to get my hands on this author's backlist.

Title: The Last Di Sione Claims His Prize

4 out of 5 stars

Maisey Yates is one of those authors who has been on my to-read list for ever, but The Last Di Sione Claims His Prize is only the first book I have read by her and I got to say I was right to be excited to read this author's writing because this book was a thoroughly entertaining contemporary romance. The storyline was a little out there and unrealistic, but that is to be expected given that this is a Harlequin Presents book and honestly it's the fact that the story is out there that makes it so entertaining. But as over the top as the plot was, the heroine was extremely down-to-earth and normal for a character who was a princess. Her character really balanced out everything else that was going on. As for the hero, Alessandro, he was a little difficult to love. He had the whole brooding alpha hero thing going for him, but at time he was a little bit too much of an asshole. And while he did win me over in the end, I kind of feel like he should have done a bit more groveling in the end to win over Gabby because she was a little too good for him and that is why this book was a 4 star read instead of a 5 star read for me. But other than that I really enjoyed this romance. I especially loved the story behind the painting that Alessandro was trying to recover for his grandfather. It was one of those epic romantic stories that I just love and I loved how everything came together in the end. Overall, I loved this book. It was a fun love story and now I'm even more excited to read more of this author's writing in the near future.

ARC Review: Millionaire Under the Mistletoe by Stefanie London

Title: Millionaire Under the Mistletoe

Author: Stefanie London

It’s so nice when he’s naughty.

Stella Jackson would rather stab herself in the eye with her own stiletto than return to England. Especially in winter. But to fulfill her grandfather’s last wish, she has to spend Christmas at the estate she inherited from him…with the one man she wishes she could forget.

Self-made millionaire Evan Foss wants one thing from Stella—her estate. But thanks to their rocky past, he’s the last person she’ll sell to. So when she takes him up on a bet, with the estate as the prize, Evan can’t believe his luck. The only problem is that seeing her now, sexy and all grown up, tempts Evan to finish what started years ago between them.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 stars

Stefanie London has yet to disappoint me with her writing and Millionaire Under the Mistletoe was not an exception. This second chance romance was an absolutely fantastic read in every way. The hero and heroine, Evan and Stella, were interesting and likable character that I thoroughly enjoyed reading about. And in regards to Stella, she is by far my favorite heroine written by this author. It seems kind of wrong of me, but I really enjoyed how petty she was when dealing with Evan and his desire to buy her grandfather's estate. Her actions were a bit childish at times, but honestly Evan kind of deserved it given what happened between these two in the past. Plus, it was humorous to watch these two go back and forth. As for Evan, while it was fun to watch him squirm, he really was a wonderful character and a nice guy, so I rooted for him to change Stella's mind from the very beginning and was really invested in having these two get a second chance at being together after their disastrous one-night stand years before.

And getting into these two getting a second chance at love, I really loved the way the author set everything up in this story. I especially loved that there aren't many secondary characters aside from the housekeeper because it kept the focus of the story on Stella and Evan as they reconnected and got over their past and fell in love without any outside factors getting in the way. This also allowed for the author to really develop this love story in a way that was very satisfying and got me emotionally invested in seeing these two live happily ever after.

Overall, I loved this book to pieces. It was a sweet and sexy contemporary romance and while my favorite book by this author is still A Dangerously Sexy Secret, this book is definitely a close second at the moment.

Excerpt from Real Good Man:

Finally, fifteen minutes after we said we’d meet, Logan Brantley walks into the tapas bar. Every curse word known to woman—and several I make up on the fly—flash through my brain.

This isn’t fair. Logan Brantley is even sexier when he’s not dressed in camo and carrying a big gun. More than one head swings in his direction. Women flip their hair and uncross and re-cross their legs as he steps up to the hostess stand.

A shaft of possessiveness lights up inside me, right along with nervous energy and my pounding heart. Back off, bitches. He’s not here for you.

I hear the low rumble of his deep drawl when he speaks to the hostess. She gestures in my direction, and he turns. Piercing blue eyes find me at the table where a lone water glass sits in front of me.

Liquid courage should definitely have been on the menu. Why didn’t I order a drink?

Because I’m an idiot. Because I thought I could handle this.

Now my heart is hammering so loud, my voice will probably be inaudible, or even worse—quaver when I speak.

Logan walks toward me with long, sure strides. He’s taller than I realized. And broader. And bigger. Everywhere. He’s wearing a black Henley that stretches across his chest, leaving no doubt of the fact that the man is built. And his jeans. Jesus. They’re worn and snug in all the right places.

The picture I found was clearly not recent, and it’s not just the fact that his brown hair is longer and shaggier. He’s one of those men who age well.

Logan stops in front of me when he reaches the tall bar table. He says nothing as his gaze drops to the toes of my boots and drags up every inch of my body.

“You’re a hard woman to find.”

ARC Review: On Broken Wings by Chanel Cleeton

Title: On Broken Wings

Author: Chanel Cleeton

The author of Into the Blue and Fly with Me returns with the newest, hot and high-flying Wild Aces romance...

A year after losing her husband, Joker, the squadron commander of the Wild Aces, Dani Peterson gets an offer from his best friend, Alex “Easy” Rogers, to help fix up her house. Dani accepts, and their friendship grows—along with an undeniable attraction.

Racked by guilt for loving his best friend’s widow, Easy’s caught between what he wants and can’t have. Until one night everything changes, and the woman who’s always held his heart ends up in his arms. Yet as Easy leaves for his next deployment, he and Dani are torn between their feelings and their loyalty to Joker’s memory.

But when Dani discovers something that sends them both into a spin, the conflicted lovers must overcome the past to navigate a future together…

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 stars

When we first found out about Easy's feelings for Dani in the first book in this series, I knew that their love story was inevitable, but at the same time I was a little worried about how Chanel was going to pull of an HEA between these two given their history and circumstances. Thankfully, I was worried for no reason because Chanel brought Easy and Dani together beautifully and flawlessly and On Broken Wings ended up being my favorite book by this author by far. The story was a sensual and emotional romance focused on two people trying to heal and move on from a tragedy that occurred earlier in the series and find away to begin a life together without feeling any type of guilt. The love story was heartwrenching and heartwarming and made me feel all the things. Easy and Dani's story truly was a beautifully perfect love story that kept me completely captivated from start to finish with how amazing it was. I honestly could not get enough of this wonderful romance and I know that I say that a lot, but in the case of On Broken Wings it's especially true to the point that even though it's been a few months since I read this book back in October I still cannot get these two characters out of my head. Easy and Dani's love story was EVERYTHING and I highly recommend it!

I have to admit that in the second half of 2016 I was a bit of a bad blogger in that I took on more than I could handle. You see I returned to working in retail and that took up most of my time and my blogging suffered a lot as a result and I became crazy behind on my reading and reviewing.

I tried my best to catch up by the end of 2016, but failed miserably, so as a result the month of January is going to be dedicated to catching up along with some blog tours sprinkled in between. This means that you all can expect lots and lots of posts from me this month. Then once I'm all caught up, I'm going to scale back my posts to one a day, maybe two depending on what new books are releasing every week.

This year I'm also determined to be more organized and actually be successful at it. I bought myself a pretty new 2017 planner to schedule all of my posts, so that I can keep up to date with everything and never miss another post or deadline again. Seriously, I'm super motivated to get back on track, so that being a blogger can go back to being a fun experience for me where I get to talk about all the romance books I loved instead of being stressful like it has been these past few months.

I'm super optimistic for this year going well for me this year especially given how many awesome books are coming out this year. With that said, let me take a moment to list the top contemporary, historical and paranormal romance books I'm most looking forward to this year!

Romance Book I'm Most Looking Forward to In 2017:

In Contemporary Romance:
1) The Bastard Billionaire by Jessica Lemmon
2) On the Plus Side by Alison Bliss
3) Salvaged by Jay Crownover
4) Too Hard to Forget by Tessa Bailey
5) Any and all books that Megan Erickson decided to grace us with this year!

In Historical Romance:
1) Lord of Lies by Amy Sandas
2) If the Duke Demands by Anna Harrington
3) The Day of the Duchess by Sarah MacLean
4) Passion Favors the Bold by Theresa Romain
5) Never Trust a Pirate by Valerie Bowman

In Paranormal Romance:
1) Deadmen Walking by Sherrilyn Kenyon
2) Bound Together by Christine Feehan
3) The Chosen by J.R. Ward
4) The Darkest Promise by Gena Showalter
5) Power Game by Christine Feehan

The year 2016, was an interesting year for me both as a blogger and in my personal life, but I'm glad it's over and I'm looking forward to what 2017 has in store for me in all aspects of my life and I hope you all will join me and continue to support me!
