ARC Review: Only for You by Naima Simone

Title: Only for You

Author: Naima Simone

She wants his forgiveness. He just wants her body…

It’s been five years since I’ve seen her.

Five years since Gabriella James damn near destroyed me with her betrayal, sending me to hell in a cage.

I’ve crawled free, escaped the mob, opened a night club, and continue to battle my demons through underground fighting and sex. But now Gabriella’s back, begging for absolution, wanting my forgiveness. All I want is what she’s denied me for all these years—her body.

Sex. That’s all we’ll ever have.

Because Gabriella is still keeping secrets. I see it in her eyes.

I don’t trust her, and I’ll never forgive her betrayal.

But that won’t stop me from taking her.

Over…and over…and over…

5 out of 5 stars

Only for You, the third book in Naima Simone's steamy Lick series, was another great read by this author that has become a fave of mine in the past year. Gabby and Killian's story was by far my favorite in this series. It was everything that I love and needed in a steamy romance and more.

First off, I loved that this book was a second chance romance. I love second chances romances so much, especially when the history between the hero and heroine is as intense as what happened between these two. Seriously, the history between these two added that extra-oomph that really made me love this story.

Secondly, the main couple in this series were just so much fun to read about. Killian in particular really grabbed my attention. His character was the perfect alpha male hero and exactly what I was expecting when I picked up this book.

Thirdly, the love story was everything! Things progressed really, really fast, but that was expected and given the history between these two it never made their connection feel rushed or fake. It all felt really natural and I was completely invested in their love story from the moment that Killian realized that Gabby was in his club until the very end.

Lastly, what I loved the most about this book was how perfectly the author wrapped up the series. I won't spoil anything for anyone, but just wait until you read the epilogue of this book. It was just so wonderful and made me so happy.

Overall, I loved this book. It was a great, quick, and steamy romance and now that I'm finished with this series, I sincerely hope that Naima Simone will grace us with some more books published by Scorched because I need more books by her like this one.

ARC Review: Only for Your Touch by Naima Simone

Title: Only for Your Touch

Author: Naima Simone

Good girls shouldn’t have dirty secrets. But he’s hers…

She’s looking to rebel, to tarnish her naïve “good girl” image.

Lucky for her, I deal in sex.

Whatever your fantasy, I deliver. Voyeurism. Threesomes. A little slap and tickle.…

If it’s your kink, I can fulfill it.

So yeah, life is good. Simple.

Until she enters my club.

It’s just sex. Our little secret.

For now…

4 out of 5 stars

This review is going to be especially short even for me because this book was an extremely quick read. All that I have to say about it is that it was another really good steamy contemporary romance. Naima Simone is one of my go-to authors when it comes to sizzling romance that allow me to escape from reality and with Only for Your Touch she did not disappoint me. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I did not connect with the characters to the same level that I usually do when it comes to the characters created by this author. I feel like that mostly has to do with the pacing of the story because while the book isn't too short everything happens really quickly making it feel shorter than it is and as a result I wasn't able to become too invested in Sasha and Corrine. But overall I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

Sam sometime speaks before he thinks. So what started out as defending Leah's date-ability to her judgmental mother soon turned into having a fiancée! 5 out of 5 stars

Size Matters, the first book in Alison Bliss's A Perfect Fit series, was a phenomenal contemporary romance novel. I've been a diehard fan of Alison Bliss for a couple of years now so I new I would like this book, but I was unprepared for how much I ended up loving this book. It was absolutely amazing in every way.

First off, the main couple in this book were fantastic. Leah was so normal and I couldn't help but love her especially since she was a plus-sized heroine. I was really able to relate to a lot of her insecurities and her general way of being and as a result that made me more invested in reading her story and seeing her find love. Sam was also a really great character. I really loved how he was there for Leah even though he barely knew her and the way that he pushed her to 100% accept that being a little curvier didn't mean she was less desirable and beautiful. I also really loved the way he was with her family. A lot of their interactions were absolutely adorable and really proved how great a guy his character was. With that said, he wasn't perfect. He did have his own issues that made me want to bang my head against the wall a couple of times while reading, but in the end none of that mattered.

Secondly, the romance in this novel was phenomenal. It is no secret that I love the fake relationship trope in romance and Size Matters is definitely one of my top five examples of it. My love of fake relationships aside, I just really loved Sam and Leah together and the way that the author set everything up between them was so perfect. Everything progressed at a steady pace that wasn't too fast or too slow, so I was able to really savor their love story without feeling dissatisfied or getting bored in any way. In other words, the love story was flawless and when I got to the end of this book I was a very happy romance reader.

Overall, I loved this book so much! It was an absolutely wonderful feel-good contemporary romance and is definitely one of my top reads of the year!

About the Author:

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans, and laptop, and drove cross-country to New York City in under four days. Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend, and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.

She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband and daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.

I absolutely loved reading Too Hot to Handle, the first book in Tessa Bailey's Romancing the Clarksons series. I don't know how Tessa has managed to once again deliver an essentially flawless contemporary romance that I can't stop thinking about, but somehow she has and I am once again left in awe.

Everything about Rita and Jasper's story worked for me. That is really saying something given that I didn't originally think it would because everything in the book happens over the span of just a few days, but the author made the love that ignites between these two character's so believable that the short time span didn't bother me at all. I was 100% on board with this relationship from the moment Rita's car breaks down on the side of the road leaving her and her siblings stranded and Jasper comes across them. The chemistry between these two is completely off the charts hot and it's impossible to not absolutely think that these two are absolutely perfect for each other.  Unfortunately, that also gave me some anxiety when I was reading the book because Rita is one of those excessively independent heroines and I was worried that her and Jasper's HEA would feel too rushed and not feel appropriate because the premise of the novel is that Rita and her siblings were supposed to take this road trip to New York together in their mother's memory, but it all played out perfectly.

And talking about Rita's siblings, I loved getting to know them in this book and how we were given hints about how their upcoming stories are going to play out as they continue on their trip. The author really built up my excitement and has made me desperate for the next three books in the Romancing the Clarksons series.

Anywho, overall, this book was a phenomenal start to a new series from one of my all-time favorite authors and I can't recommend it enough because it really was just that good. Seriously, Too Hot to Handle was Tessa Bailey at her BEST!

Crazy for You was an absolutely adorable holiday romance. I went into it thinking that this book was only a novella, but this book was actually more developed than that and I'm thankful for that because it gave me more time to really connect with these characters and their story. And talking about the characters I really liked Jack. This guy really should be nominated for sainthood with how good he was. Like he was almost too good of a person that I kind of kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. But. no he really was that nice. As for Fallon, I really liked her character, but it really bothered me that she didn't really stand up for herself for most of the book. But aside from that I really liked her as I already said. She was a good mother trying to better herself and that made me proud of her character.

The romance in this book was really nice. Although, I feel like the love story could have been developed a little bit more because I feel like it wasn't deep enough to fully convince me that the decisions these characters made at the very end made sense for them. Despite that, the love story was really sweet and I really did like them together. Plus, the epilogue really sold me on them together, so all-in-all this book was a win for me.

4 out of 5 stars

So while I have read romances by Nina Croft before, this is the first of her books with paranormal and science fiction elements that I have picked up and I got to say I really enjoyed it. The beginning was a little confusing for me at first because this is the sixth book in a series, so there was a lot of information I needed to learn, but once I got into it I couldn't put this book down. The characters, the plot, the love story was all very gripping. I couldn't get enough of the world that Nina Croft created. It was unique and fascinating and I couldn't help but love this book. My one issue with the book was that I needed more build up for the love story. When the book started Candy and Thorne had already had a complicated history, but the way it was explained didn't a hundred percent explain why these two were hung up on each other. But despite that I still really liked their romance. It was fast-paced like the rest of the plot and had my heart racing from start to finish in all the best ways. Overall, I loved this book. I had already loved Nina Croft from her contemporaries, but because of this book now I love her for her science fiction as well. I seriously cannot recommend this book and this author enough!

5 out of 5 stars

The Legendary Lord, the sixth book in Valerie Bowman's Playful Brides series was a really great historical romance read. There was so much to love about this novel. First off, the heroine was wonderful. Sarah was determined and capable and while I wish she would have stood up to her parents a little more actively, I still really liked her. Secondly, I really, really loved Christian. I usually love my historical romance heroes a little more difficult if you know what I mean, but I really loved that Christian was a nice guy. He was so sweet and good and he now has a special place in my heart. Although, I do wish he would have accepted the fact that he loved Sarah a little bit sooner. And talking about love, I loved that the romance in this book was a nice slow burn. The pace at which everything progressed really gave my the chance to really savor this love story making it a favorite of mine. Overall, I loved this book so much! It was pretty much perfect in my opinion and since this is only the second book I have read by this author I am going to be moving up her other novels on my towering TBR because I need more of these characters!
