ARC Review: Her Secret Lover by Robin Covington

Title: Her Secret Lover

Author: Robin Covington

Kelsey Kyle will do whatever it takes to get into the management trainee program at the casino where she works. So when she’s given the opportunity to get a VIP customer’s endorsement for the program, she jumps at the challenge. All she needs to do is arrange a one-on-one fan experience with the woman’s favorite author, tall-dark-and-intense Micah Holmes.

An entire week at a Vegas romance readers’ convention, surrounded by hundreds of people, is Micah Holmes’ idea of hell. But one look at Kelsey, his assigned hotel concierge, and the attraction is immediate. Maybe this week won’t be so bad after all…

Anything beyond a “strictly professional” relationship will get Kelsey fired, but she needs to get close to Micah to get the super fan experience her client wants. Hot sex in her apartment pool begins a game of “undercover lover” that quickly escalates to something more. But when Micah discovers her secret agenda, all bets are off.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 stars

Her Secret Lover, Robin Covington's contribution to Entangled's Lovestruck's What Happens in Vegas series is a really great romance. Like seriously what's not to love about a book set in Las Vegas during a romance book convention where the male protagonist is a hot and nerdy romance author.

I loved Micah Holmes so much. He was burned emotionally by his ex-wife and despite saying that he doesn't believe in love, he manages to write hot, sweet romances that everyone is in love with and takes a chance at love when he meets the heroine, Kelsey Kyle. I also absolutely adored Kelsey. It was so easy to relate to her character. She was driven and independent women who knew what she wanted out of life, but at the same time even though she was a "do whatever it takes" kind of woman she was loyal and despite her thinking in the beginning of the book, when it came down to it she didn't betray Micah when push came to shove.

I really loved Kelsey and Micah as a couple in this one and it's not just because of the illicitness of their forbidden romance. The relationship was overall really sweet and the connection between the two of them felt very real. They were too adorable and their HEA had me swooning hard.

Overall, this book was a really fun romance. It had all the steaminess and sweetness that I love in my romances and grabbed my attention with its outrageous  and funny plot centered around a romance book convention. While this may be the first book by this author I have read because of it I have become a fan for life.
