Waiting on Wednesday (on Thursday): Exposure by Kelly Moran AND Just Say Yes by Alyssa Goodnight

So even though it's past midnight here in New York City, officially making it Thursday, I've decided that I am going to share my "Waiting on Wednesday" post with you all anyway. And since I missed last week's "Waiting on Wednesday" too thanks to some internet connectivity problems I have decided to feature two books this week instead of one.

My first pick is Exposure by Kelly Moran.

The greatest pleasure comes from losing control…

Noah Caldwell has spent ten years biding his time for the chance to tell his best friend Raven Crowne the truth. He wants her. With the threat that brought him to her in the first place finally behind him, they begin a hot affair he's only dreamt about. And reality is far better than fantasy. Yet beautiful Raven has her own dark history, one he's trying desperately to release from her. But as their passion deepens and turns into more, his past rises up from the shadows to claim one last victim…and Noah could lose the only person he can't live without.

Exposure releases January 2016!

Why I'm waiting:

I picked up my first Kelly Moran book this past January and ever since then I have been a diehard fan. Whether the book is a cutesy contemporary romance like The Dysfunctional Test, an emotional romance like Return to Me, or paranormal mysteries like Ghost of a Promise and Give Up the Ghost, Moran has yet to disappoint me. Exposure will be her first attempt at writing an erotic romance and based on the blurb and the unedited snippets that I have been lucky enough to read this book seems like it's going to be a hot, sexy and thrilling read. And I'm super excited to see how Moran brings these new characters to life come January!

My second pick this week is Just Say Yes by Alyssa Goodnight.

He's just what she needs...

Single mom Jade Moran isn't ready for any big changes in either her horrible '70s kitchen or her romantic life. Her ex did a number on her, and she isn't interested in getting hurt again. But when she meets a super-hot contractor, she wonders if avocado appliances are on the way out and romance is on the way in.

Max Gianopoulis doesn't have a clue why he's so enchanted by Jade. She's almost as big a mess as her kitchen, and he's a guy who likes to keep things simple. He let himself get involved with a previous client, and he's not interested in repeating the experience. But Jade has turned up the flirty heat - and he can't keep his hands off her.

With everything moving too fast and coming too easy, Jade's insecurities kick into high gear. She's not sure she can trust another man again - and she definitely doesn't believe in magic.

Just Say Yes releases August 25, 2015!

Why I'm waiting:

I first learned about this book when I attended the Facebook release party for Ruby's Misadventures with Reality last week and was completely drawn in by the adorable, flirty cover. Then once I read the blurb I was completely sold on it because I've been craving a lot of cutesy romances lately. So basically with that cover and blurb this book seems like the perfect read for me at the moment and I can't wait for it to be released so that I can devour it!

So what were you waiting on this Wednesday?

Cover Reveal: Scorched by R. Holmes

This morning I have the pleasure of sharing with all of you the cover of R. Holmes' upcoming debut erotic romance.

I first learned of this book and its author through Instagram and was unable to restrain myself from adding it to my must-buy list for the Fall after seeing all the hot teasers being posted by those who have been lucky enough to read this book already. (Seriously, check out the author's Instagram! You won't be disappointed. Lol.)

So without further ado here's the sizzling cover for Scorched!

So now that you have seen the awesomeness that is this cover here's a little bit about the book.

Hale Jarreau left my life the same way he entered it--all at once.
We once burned like a fire, raging and consuming and I spent my life loving him. I didn't have a choice.
And then, he was gone; leaving my heart aching and my soul empty.
Time doesn't heal a damn thing and pain comes in many forms. But time only makes that pain ache deeper.
It makes forgetting impossible.
Every love has its story.
This one is ours.

Scorched releases September 15, 2015

If this cover and blurb caught your attention as much as it did mine you can add it to your Goodreads to-read shelf here and check out R. Holmes on Instagram and Facebook

Waiting on Wednesday: Ruby's Misadventures with Reality by Samantha Bohrman

As a way to make sure that I post at least once a week I'm going to be participating in the popular "Waiting on Wednesday" meme. For those of you not familiar with it already it is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

So without further ado my first pick for Waiting on Wednesday is Ruby's Misadventures with Reality by Samantha Bohrman!

She's off to see the killer...

Lawyer Ruby O'Deare might not be living the American dream, but it feels like it every time she visits her small town megamall. The shoes! The lighting! Prince Charming spotted in the food court! It's a dream, right?

But all dreams must come to an end.

Ruby's does when she wakes up after a one-night stand with the town's sexy zoning commissioner, Noel West. Actually, that part is good. It's the expired Dollar Store condoms she finds that feel too real.

And then her favorite client Estelle turns up dead.

Ruby is determined to find out the truth behind the curtains of Ozcorp, the company that owns the heavenly megamall and has the most to gain from her client's death. She just hopes the zoning commissioner she might be falling for isn't caught up in the danger.

Ruby's Misadventures with Reality releases July 14, 2015!

Why I'm waiting:

I first learned about this book from an author friend and was drawn in just by the killer heels on the cover. Then I read the synopsis and became completely sold on the fact that this is the perfect read for me. It sounds like such a fun and quirky romantic mystery and I couldn't resist adding it to my must-buy ebook list. I will definitely be downloading it next week the second it goes live!

So what are you waiting on this Wednesday?

Welcome to My Book Blog!!!

First, let me start off by saying that this is not my first time blogging. I made a half-hearted attempt at sustaining one last summer and failed miserably. I was so focused on trying to be like other book blogs that I follow that I quickly got frustrated and gave up. But after giving it some thought I've decided to give book blogging another go but this time I'm doing it for myself as a way to have a more official way to share my love of books with the world. With that said this will be a very personal book blog. I'm not going to be one of those bloggers that reviews ARCs and hosts dozens of giveaways. Instead all the reviews I post will be my personal rambling thoughts and feelings on the books that I read and love. Also, I'm a big fan of lists so along with my reviews I'll be posting lists of my favorite books in different genres and in the future I might post some giveaways as well as give you glimpses into my daily life when I feel like it.

Anywho, it might take me some time to get things rolling so in the meantime here are some random facts about me.

My name is Samantha Kay but most people call me Sammi or Sam.

I'm 22-years-old.

I'm of Puerto Rican descent.

I was born and raised in New York City.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in English from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

If I had a choice I would spend my entire life reading and writing for fun.

I read all genres but my favorite by far are romance novels because in my opinion there is nothing better than a good love story.

My all-time favorite book is Unteachable by Leah Raeder. If you ever ask me for a book recommendation that is usually my go to suggestion.

My all-time favorite author is Tessa Bailey. I have loved every single one of her books so far. She's amazing!

When I'm not going on and on about books I can usually be found watching lots of TV because fictional worlds are more interesting.

Lastly, I'm very active on both Twitter and Instagram. Follow me if you want. I'll follow back if you message me and tell me that you found me through here.
